Yes, location might not be perfect, but if you don't mind walking 5 minutes to BTS, you won't regret. The staff is very friendly and helpful, we definitely felt welcome there. The rooms were spacious and clean. Swimming pool and gym almost empty in the mornings which was great.
We were eating at Thai places on the streets around hotel - there is pkenty of these with great food. One that was set up in the evening just around the corner (Sam and Jennie's) was absolutely amazing - they didn't speak much English but had menu translated into English and were so friendly. We had there the best and cheapest meal in Thailand - barbecued fish in salt was divine! We paid 600 bhat for 5 main dishes and 4 large beers and most of the bill was for drinks. How amazing is that!

This place is four star quality but I gave it 5 stars because of the price.

I have lived in Bangkok and visited it often so I know the city well so it has been frustrating over the last few years watching family type accommodation sky rocket in price. Sure it is still cheaper then in the west but some places have doubled and sometimes tripled their prices in just the last three years.

If you book for two or more nights then this place is a bargain.

Easy to find and check in was fast and the bell boys were efficient. we were on the 4th floor so had no view but the rooms were large and comfortable with basically everything that you need.

The pool is small and not really kid friendly but it is still nice. There is a small pool for very young kids to enjoy. It can get quite cold as it is in the shade a lot of the time. The Gym has good equipment and was empty when I used it.

Biggest issue is the location. When you have kids it is not a place that you walk to anything. We took taxis everywhere. Just get the staff down stairs to get one to come in and pick you up.

About 300m away is Villa which is a western style supermarket and about 500m away is the closest 7/11. There is a small selection of street food found just to the left of the main entrance to the complex but it was not all that good.

If you have kids and want the space and like good value for money then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor to get a view.

It is a great place to stay. The only bigger disadvantage is location - far from the train, far from tourist attractions and constant traffic jam. Other things - equipment, cleanness, rooms size, staff - very good. Great views from windows (15th floor). There was a microwave in our room, toaster, kettle and a set of plates with cutlery. Comfortable bed, spotless bedsheets, big balcony. Open air swimming pool is available downstairs.

Taxi drivers had problems with finding this place. Oaks is attached to another hotel, Anantara. Internet connections is quite expensive, available free of charge in the lobby and 30 mins in rooms. Ridiculously expensive laundry!

we booked two bed rooms apartment for 4 nights. it was super nice, very spacious, clean. feels like home, and even better. the breakfast was fantastic. the location is great, 10mins walk to metro station, 1 stop away from Siam station which is the city central. i like the fact that its not in the city central so its not crowded over there. staff are very friendly as well.

Room Tip: the A/C unit noise is the only downside.

We stayed (only) 2 nights at this place and were really impressed.
At our arrival we received a warm welcome and had the opportunity to check in earlier in the morning with a free upgrade ! This was much appreciated. The staff was really helpful and the front desk lady was very nice and friendly. The studio (409) was very large, with a large kitchen and a great bathroom with a bath and brazilian shower, all nicely firnished. The big double bed was comfortable and allowed us to have a sweet night : not a noise was heard !
The swimming pool was also very enjoyable after a long day visiting Bangkok ! I totally recomnand this hôtel and I thank again all the staff for their kindness :)

We booked two bed rooms apartment for 5 days. The Hotel is very Clean, Huge and relatively new. the front staffs gave us a good service and provide us tons of information to go to everywhere we want. Most of the taxi driver know this hotel as Anantara Sathorn which is in the same complex and under one management.... don't miss the zoom bar and restaurant at level 38th...it is awesome.. Worth of everything..

This is our second time staying at Oaks Bangkok Sathorn. We arrived on 2 Feb 2014 which was polling or election day. The property is located just off south Sathorn and hence well away from the excitement and protest sites.

For the uninitiated Oaks Bangkok Sathorn is located next to the Anantara Sathorn Hotel. These two individual towers adjoin each other and are managed by the same hotel management company and share common facilities such as the gym, steam and sauna, spa and other recreational facilities and food and beverage outlets, concierge, bell boys. The Anantara Sathorn Hotel operates as normal hotel and feature studio, one bedroom and two bedroom units without kitchen facilities. The Oaks Bangkok Sathorn offers one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom units featuring a full kitchen with oven, stove tops, exhaust fans, toaster, microwave, full sized refrigerator, pots and pan, crockery and cooking and eating utensils and washing machine - some of the units have been sold while a number of unites have been retained for daily weekly rental.

For this stay of a week, we once again rented a very comfortable and spacious three bedroom apartment (which offered about 1,800 sq ft of space) which had three individual bedrooms, two ensuite bathrooms (with full bathtub and separate shower), one individual bathroom (with shower only), lounge and dining area and full kitchen. Individual airconditioning controls and electronic safes are provided in each bedroom. The lounge offers ample seating via full extended sofa and flat screen TV and a writing desk is located on one side. Internet connection was provided via wifi or LAN cables in the rooms.

The bathrooms were good sized and well maintained. Toiletries provided included bath oils, hair conditioner and shower gels. A special touch was a shaving mirror. A socket was provided for shaver and hairdryer which was provided.

We prepared breakfast on our own in the spacious apartment and used the refreshing pool which measure about 24 metres in length as well as the steam and sauna facilities. We did have dinner on evening at
on the 37 floor of the adjoining tower Anantara Hotel at Signor Sassi the Italian restaurant. It was expensive but the food was good and the view matched the food.

Our last visit was about a year ago and it was good to see that standards were being maintained.

The reception staff were helpful with all sorts of requests no matter how big or small.

The bellboys in particular Khun Khai and Khun Tom were especially helpful and resourceful in seeing to our transportation arrangements and we tipped them generously.

A couple of comments:
1. The shower stall proved to be a bit slippery and my 87 year old mother slipped while she was in it. So perhaps more bathmats could be provided to cover the surface area of the shower.
2. The railings on the balcony tended to be rather dusty and dirty and it was obvious that housekeeping had neglected this area. We discovered this when we did some light washing and hung our washing on a hanger within the balcony.
3. We would like to see the pool deck resurfaced with better material (with no wooden splinters) and the access steps going in to the pool given an abrasive finish to avoid slipping.
4. Replace pool deck beds with those that do not sag…..this is bad for the back.

Room Tip: Choose an apartment on the highest floor possible and partially overlooking the pool so that your b...
