Oaks used to be part of the two-towered Anantara Hotel, but one tower is now Oaks Residential Apartments, which is run by Anantara, and the upper levels are condos for purchase. We stayed in the 2 bedroom service apartment for a two nights. The staff was very kind and helpful. Khun Yok took special care of us and we really appreciated her efforts. The suite is of modern decor, very clean, nicely appointed kitchen in very good condition. The white quartz floors, the nice balcony that we enjoyed, the wall of windows in the master bedroom- all of these things were such a pleasure. Lots of closet space and a storage room in the apartment for bulky stuff like golf clubs. There is a great market about a 5 minute walk from the hotel/apartments, with everything that you are used to- lots of imports, and good local foods, as well. It is about a 15 minute walk to the BTS station. You can take the bus from the end of the soi to the BTS station, but it can be quicker to walk.
Great place, great service, great style. I would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Go for a high floor for a better view and a nice breeze.

I booked one-bedroom for one night at Oaks. This is actually the first Oaks in Thailand. It is next to BRT station and hotel also offers free shuttle to BTS during the day.

Let's start with the review:

The room: Very nice with modern furniture and full kitchen utensils, Very nice bathroom (shower with separate bathtub), 2 LCD TVs, huge balcony. I was impressed with the room to say the least.

The facilities: Shared facilities with Anantara hotel which is nice. Gym 24-7, swimming pool, spa, good restaurants and bars.

Location: not right next to BTS but not too far away. you can take a taxi cab to most destinations in BKK.

Comments: Oaks lacks of some services such as 24-hr front desk, shared building but it does the job for anyone who want a good place to sleep! :)

Room Tip: the higher floor the better view! No convenient store near by...so get some before heading back to...

We stayed at Oaks Bangkok Sathorn in Late May 2013 and found a great deal through Agoda on a super sale. I have worked in hotels for 9 years now and take my choice of accommodation pretty seriously when planning my trips. Having read many trip advisor reviews on this property we decided to take a chance as the deal was very good and the 2 bedroom apartment sounded perfect for our needs. Having just travelled 10 days in Bali with my sister, i knew we would appreciate the seperate bedrooms and added comforts of an apartment vs a normal hotel.

The rundown:

Oaks Hotel has a sister hotel next door called Anantara. They share the gym, pool, and restaurant facilities but dont be discouraged by that. We found the Anantara hotel staff were very pleasant on every occassion we required assistance and treated us no differently than their own hotel guests. Its is true that Oaks hotel reception is closed overnight but any assistance required is taken care of by Anantara staff. The receptions for both hotels are linked by glass doors and staff are in abundance so it was never at any point an inconvenience to us.

Oaks staff were very obliging and very helpful with any questions, directions and tour bookings/ re-confirmations etc.

The apartment itself was better than advertised- very modern. Whilst the view is not so fantastic ( i assume the daytime skyline in Bangkok is dreadful anywhere you stay), the room surely made up for everything else. Huge apartment with fantastic cooking facilities (except no oven). The open plan kitchen/lounge was great and the TV's are modern with USB ports so remember to take your hardrive! The main bedroom was so spacious and i loved the deep bathtub in the main bedroom. The apartment had a 2nd bathroom aswell with shower, toilet and basin.

We unfortunately did not dine for breakfast on any of the days we were there but the restaurant did look lovely.

We did however have room service on the night we arrived and found the menu to be quite extensive. The prices are pretty much at Western prices but a premium price is to be expected when staying in hotels. We did make good use of the supermarket which is 2 minutes walk from the hotel and in the late afternoon/early evening there are the infamous street food very close to the hotel if you decided to pop down and enjoy the local cuisine.

I would also like to make mention that the hotel is located 10-15 minutes walk from Chong Nonsi Sky Train station. The hotel does offer a shuttle service to the sky train which does leave frequently (and we did make use of this on a number of occasions) but with Bangkok's bad traffic it did work out quicker to walk in most instances. Its a pretty easy walk, straight down 1 street so you cant get lost!

We really loved the hotel, i would absolutely stay again.

Room Tip: 2 Bedroom apartment is fantastic for a family, or just people who want some extra space. Check agoda...

We stayed at the Oaks for two nights at the beginning of our Asian vacation, and found it to be a fine place to come home to after playing all day in the dust and sweat of Bangkok. The apartment was more than large enough for the two of us, bed was clean and comfortable, and kitchen was reasonably well appointed, although why you'd need it in food-happy Bangkok is a mystery to us! The train to the city centre is only a ten-minute walk, and very cheap. There are not a lot of food options close to the hotel however, we made the error of going for a wander to seek out some dinner, and walked for some time with no success. The 'street meat' van down the alleyway near the hotel on the train station side is well worth a visit, if you're adventurous enough to try!

The front desk staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and the concierge at the adjacent Anantara hotel was only too happy to give us a map, information, assist with transport, and greet us with a smile. It would have been nice if they had let us know about the complimentary water in the room, however... We drank it anyway, and were later told it was complimentary. It might also be worth mentioning that although they are very helpful in organising your taxi upon departure, if you are heading for Suvarnabhumi at peak hour, decline their offer and walk to the opposite side of the road - you will literally save hours sitting in traffic.

Regarding amenities, Oaks guests also have access to the Anantara pool and bar; I'd recommend the calamari and two-for-one G&Ts during happy hour! The pool deck is a beautiful place to sit in the afternoon, but be sure to make your presence known to the wait staff - they don't seem to be in the habit of paying close attention to who is coming, going, and waiting to order.

Other reviewers have mentioned the wifi, and I tend to agree. The Oaks does have wifi, however it is patchy at best. If you're only checking emails, it will suffice, but anything more becomes frustrating.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Oaks, and would definitely stay again.

Dear Reviewer:

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent stay at Oaks Bangkok Sathorn.

Glad to read that the team was overall helpful and I appreciate your candid input about the service suggestions that will improve our guests’ experience.

Indeed, the traffic is heavy at peak hours and the overpass can save quite a bit of time better spent relaxing in one of our suites provided the suitcase is not too heavy!

Once your travels bring you back to our vibrant city, we hope you will visit us again. Please feel free to contact me directly at szotoff@oakshotelsresorts.com should I be able to assist you.

Cheers!

In the years i have travel arround the world i have been in several hotels based on Appartmentbuildings, but this is one of the most bad ones. This is just an apartment complex that is allowed to use the hotel next door. Use Little service, there is no reception in the evening, you can of course use the back door of the hotel next door. No NEVER AGAIN. If the hotel next door wasn't there you will not stay at this building. During our stay, even the door of the cabinet removed, so we had an open closet, then a day later they wanted to replace the mirrors while the apartment complex was almost empty. No ............. never this apartment. The appartments are real nice and have all you need, however the furniture get a little bit dated. The aria in Bangkok is good, next to the skytrain station so you can travel true Bangkok very easy. If you want to have a drink in the evening you need to find a nice place arround the hotel aria because there is no bar. You can order in the appartment food and drinks, well if you lucky they pick up their telephone, but the prices are way too high.

Myself and 3 friends are doing a 5 week trip around Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. We wanted to stay somewhere comfortable and undeniably safe for our first few nights in Bangkok and that's what we got the the Oaks apartment. Our room was beautiful and clean, the staff were endlessly helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was very fresh and tasty. I'd recommend this accomodation to anyone and thanks to the staff for all their help!

We came to Bangkok for a family wedding.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 5 days. It was really nice with excellent response to incidents; I managed to block the toilet and triggered the fire alarm while cooking breakfast.
Our apartment had two balconies which was great for my partner who smokes.
The facilities shared with the Anantara hotel were fantastic. The 32 meter long salt swimming pool and gym were great for my daily exercise.
The hotel is closed to a supermarket and to Chong Nonsi BTS. If walking for more than 7 minutes is not you, the hotel offer a shuttle service to the station.
My in-law were staying in a two bedrooms apartment that had a big dinning area and lounge with 2 bathrooms.
The only fault I could find was kitchen towel were not provided.
