“Very Convenient”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

Very convenient as the stairs to the Skytrain is right outside the hotel. From here you can pretty much go anywhere. If you'd like to use a taxi, it's also easy to get one from this area. Tuktuks are also found right outside the hotel in case you'd like to use it for experience.

There's a 7-11 a few steps away. There are also 2 malls nearby to shop or dine in or simply to kill time. If these isn't enough, Siam is 1 station away (or you can also walk), there are 2 more huge malls there.

The hotel itself is very new. There are 2 hotels combined in the property, looks like it is of the same owner. The staff performance is average, some of them can be very helpful, some not so much. There's a travel agent beside the frontdesk where we booked our dinner cruise, a little pricey but convenient. The breakfast option is also average. Spread is very limited and taste is so-so.

The rooms are clean, just enough decent space for 2 adults to move around. They don't have amenities except for shampoo, wash and towels, so make sure to bring other necesseties. Wifi is free and fast, which counts a lot nowadays. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are not sound proofed though, you'll hear noise from the hallways.

Overall, I think I'd stay here again. For the price, the convenience and the comfort, it gave me good value.

It's a really nice hotel. The room is very clean although small but reasonable compare to the price and location. Right beside a bridge connecting to skytrain station and big shopping centers at Siam area.

I booked the trip less than 24 hours before departure and also right before Hong Kong bank holiday (FYI - HK people love to go to Bangkok any time any day, especially long weekend). Me and my sister just booked it and go.
To be fair, if book last minute and budget also wouldn't spend time in the hotel room. I can say GO,
Location- Prefect. the Skytrain station just right outside of the hotel, (Remember Skytrain/Metro are the best way to travel around in Bangkok, otherwise you can sit in taxi for agessss). Convenience store next door. Food Stall around during day time but not during evening.
MRT shopping Mall just cross the bridge. Siam just one stop or you can walk.

Services- very basic, explain the facilities what include, keycard , done. No one will take you to the room,I 'm fine. (If you are posh, no need to read this).

Room- Small, of course, look at the price what you expect. Clean, bed no problem. Just one thing, Smell a little bit of Wet Carpet, but no where has carpet, I guess from Air Con. Hotel should check this.

Bathroom- Super small. I 'm ok. But can they clean a little the wall inside the shower, those moldy/black spot bother me.

Breakfast-small area in the lobby and 3 table at outdoor, Indoor FULL, I picked the table outside. Food not impressive at all and no one fill up (during peak time). just some fruit and toast is fine. Come on Bangkok, never worry about food.

Conclusion: If you on budget and short trip for few days, stay there, If a week then get service apartment.
I enjoy the to get food from food stall in the evening but not around that area.

Stay in hotel during 1st July to 5th July. New hotel and very convenient as the BTS is just downstairs and MBK is just 2 min walk. Room is quite small and toilet is extremely small, showering area is pathetic small. The piping system has some issue, when you turn your tap to hot, it become hotter and when it is turn to cold, the water become colder and every now and then, you will need to adjust the temperature of the water. Room sound proofing really sucks big time, you could hear your neighbour TV noise, plugging the socket, opening of door etc If you are a light sleeper, please find other hotel. Breakfast is limited selection and nothing much to choose from. There is a massage place/7 11 near to the hotel and food around the corner.

Conclusion: Seriously you could find something better value for money. You are just paying for the location and nothing else.

Time was ready for my annual trip to Bangkok. I have always stayed in the Sukhumvit area. Last year in June I stayed at Mermaid Hotel - Sukhumvit Soi 29 one station away from Emporium

But this year since I am travelling with 3other couples and as they have booked the IBIS Bangkok Siam, I checked with my Bangkok Associates and had it booked too for myself, Well, it was a good TA rate which I paid directly for 1,450 Bhats and includes buffet breakfasts plus free wifi in room.

It was a well-worth stay as though the relatively new rooms are small but very well appointed and comfortable. BUT the most convenient way to move around is that it sits right-smack on BTS (National Stadium Station) of the train and accessible all areas of metropolitan Bangkok.

I stayed for 4 nights between 24-28June and what's more - there was a consumer fair on 27th June at the Convention centre. a Bumper bonus?

At last I have finally found a well balanced accommodation needs combined with comfort, convenience in travelling, pricing and food outlets (being just opposite MBK centre?

An annual trip well worth..............

Room Tip: any room would suffice

This is a newer hotel, that has a contemporary design. If you are planning to shop most of the time and not stay in the room, this hotel provides good service, comfortable beds, and a decent buffet breakfast in the morning. There is free wifi, with no extra payments for it's services. if you want to use the pool or fitness room, you have to pay extra. These services are offerd on the Mecure side. Both hotels are right across from MBK, one of the most popular shopping areas around. Siam Paragon is 1 stop away by sky train(BTS), or you can walk up to the skywalk and across into Siam Discovery and Siam Center to Siam Paragon. Jim Thompsons's house is located a short few blocks away. If you have dirty laundry, and want to save some money, you can take the clothes outside the hotel. There is a laundry service next to Wendy's guesthouse where they charge by kilo weight for dirty clothes. I am planning to return to the Ibis again.
