I took the 'The Hidden Culture, Crafts & Communities of Bangkok' tour with Eng in October.
This was a new tour item so I turned out to be the only person on the tour that day - it was practically a private tour! The tour was great in that I got to see and experience parts of Bangkok I would not have seen otherwise, and there was a lot of interaction with locals. I was also able to ask questions and interact somewhat with Eng interpreting. We walked around the canal area, visited an original old school silk shop, took the boat to an area that soley produces goods for use by monks - from cloths, to bowls, to coffins. Eng provided great background and historical information to each of the areas we visited.
It was a relaxing tour, comfortable and not rushed. We had time to sit and have an ice cream, and just chat and rest before continuing. It was flexible too - I opted not to have dinner and catch the ferry and check out the river area.
I felt I got a good insight into Thailand and Thai people, and really enjoyed it too. There's many tours that do the major tourist sites, but tours like this I think add a whole different, more personal, aspect to the trip.
Thanks Eng for the great time and company.
