“Quality thai Art, not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

The collection is a good presentation of the some of best artist in Thailand, it represent many view of the Thai Society, from the naive, abstract, surrealistic and homage to the Buddha and Dharma.
What is sure every piece of art is a treasure, each has been selected for it merit and quality. And for art Nerds there are plenty to analyze and contemplate on. It is easy to overload, have enough and tire from the abundance quality pieces to look at.
What is more the Museum itself is designed well and add to the pieces with good lighting, space and architecturally which in itself is unique in S.E. Asia.

It time only allows for one visit, then be so, I´m planning to be back soon and have a second great day looking at world class paintings.

It compare easily with any world class museum, though for snobs some international know artist my be absent, but for visitors who want to see Thai art no better place can be recommanded.

“Excellent showcase of works of prominent Thai national artists”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

Spent half a day at the MOCA. While I have heard of artist like Thawan Duchanee, seeing them up close shows how powerful his works are. Many prominent works are featured and is a fine tribute to Silp Bhirasri (of Italian origin, but a lover of Thailand), the father of Thai modern contemporary art . MOCA takes you away from the hustle and bustle of chaotic Bangkok. A must see in my opinion

You can literary spend the day there. The building is beautiful. The museum have a great range from traditional Thai arts to contemporary modern pieces. I really enjoyed the Richard Green room as well. The blueberry cheesecake was also awesome.

“Fantastic gallery with modern art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012 via mobile

This gallery is a must see for art fans.
The museum building is stunning & the art exhibitions will keep you there for a few hours.
Entrance is only 180 baht, no inflated price for foreigners!
You are also allowed to take photos, which is great - no flash though.
Note that you are not allowed inside if you're carrying a big bag. If you arrive with one they will keep it at the ticket office & give you a plastic bag to carry some things around.
There's a little coffee shop for you to relax your tired legs at afterwards.

“What a pity!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

An increadible building, modrn concetion, very good lighting, huge spaces, great rooms, efficient staff, showing... crap. There are some excellent Thai artists and it is trange that, except for very few have been retained. A big disapointment when expecting so much from a prestigious name like that.
