Sure it's not much to look at from outside but the location is fantastic, after booking I was emailed with a very comprehensive email in both English and Thai along with a map, easily accessible via train although I caught a tuk tuk here without a problem, the location is tucked away making it quite at night unlike some places on main roads (Thai people love horns ^_^) 2 minutes walk from the main drag if yarowat CHINATOWN. Rooms are basic but good value for money, double rooms have balcony and window and fan, shared bathrooms are fine if you're used to budget traveling. Western style toilets are provided what more do you want for the price? As to the safety of the area, it is a perfectly safe area and the reviewer who said they felt unsafe perhaps shouldn't be traveling in Asia if your paranoia is so extreme. This is a family run business and ideal for the budget traveler. I have stayed here on two occasions and have had great experiences both times. People are sooks, stay at the Marriott if you expect the Marriott

We arrived late at night after travelling from Khon Kaen, its relatively hard to find and in a bit of dodgy area but the looks of it, although we had no trouble there and the chaps outside shotting whisky seemed nice enough ;).

This is a very cheap rough and ready experience, we just wanted somewhere to crash before our trip to Siem Reap, so it did the job. The owner was nice to change our reservation dates the day before we arrive and was friendly when we met him. One thing I will say is no matter what price you pay a must is cleanliness i mean there were bugs on the bed. If they really cleaned this place up they could have a nice little hostel.

Only stay here if roughing it really doesn't bother you.

Don't expect much. The exterior looks like a prison, the interior isn't much better. In fact prisons are better equipped. Hard to find, and the area doesn't feel safe at night if you're alone. The single room had a bed only, not even a curtain on the window. It was 30 degrees at night and you can't open a window due to security/mosquitoes. The bathroom had no water the night I was there, I discovered after trying unsuccessfully to flush the toilet. Cold water showers only. There wasn't even a handbasin. I moved elsewhere after one night.

Ok ok. It's dingy n dark and It's rough and ready but hey what do u expect for $5 for single room shared bathroom. Great location between Chinatown and trainstation. Albert the owner is a great guy n extremely helpful and I enjoyed plenty if laughs with him. If your on a budget n don't mind it roughing it check it out

it was incredibly hard to find. Google maps was wrong so we spent a long time looking for it on the other side of Bangkok. Once you do find it, it's very conveniently located near a 7-11 (corner shop) and a 3 min walk from Chinatown.
The place is quite dirty and very basic. But we're students so we're used to that kinda thing and we're just happy with how cheap it is.
The owner is awesome. We had a few drinks with him in the evening and he was really laid back.
Overall great if you're a student. If you have any kind of class this isn't for you
