The 93 Hotel & Pratunam Pavillion messed up my booking so I have no choice but to ask the taxi driver to take us to any hotel available for the night. And after hotel hunting, we decided to take Richly Villa. They gave us two rooms, Superior - 1500baht (for 2 people) and Deluxe - 1700baht (for 3). They said deluxe is bigger but it was a joke, they were almost the same size. The furniture were too big for the small room we bumped into each other when we walk around. The king size bed was welcoming but the bedsheet was stained, gross!! The room has a tiny balcony overlooking a new building under construction, a new hotel perhaps? The washroom was so tiny you need to shower just right beside the toilet and the water pressure was not good. The rooms came with free breakfast (limited selection) and my friends said the taste was bland and the dining area was just beside the reception counter where you can expect to see the receptionist sleeping on the couch when you're taking your breakfast. The hotel location is ok for those who know the area and it's quite safe to walk, even at night. Actually, upon checking in around 9pm and after a short break, we went for hotel hunting again and booked our rooms at Grand Watergate Hotel, just nearby.
The reason I gave 'poor' to service is because the boy receptionist knows little English and therefore he can't answer much to my inquiries. Even a simple "I need extra towel" he didn't comply. It's a shame to see an effort go to waste since I can see new hotels sprouting around Pratunam and newcomer like Richly Villa didn't do much to stay competitive in this industry.
