“Great service!”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

I have stayed in 3 different hotels in Bangkok so far, and this is by far the best received service I have had amongst them. Firstly, the bellboys were very initiative and helped us with the luggages the moment we reached the hotel entrance. Then we went to the 7th floor (the hotel is within a shopping mall, Shibuya 19), and were greeted by very friendly and approachable receptionist staffs. They helped us with reservation of restaurant, located unfamiliar places for us, and even translated places' names in Thai for us. We then went up to our room where we checked in and received the necessary amenities, as well as free wifi (throughout our stay) even in the comfort of our room. Housekeeping staffs were also very thoughful and took the initiative to ask us whether do we need anything. The hotel also has a medium sized restaurant which serve decent food, and the breakfast buffet (if you include in your stay) is also quite awesome. Only thing I had wished for was a bathtub, which I was told by the hotel manager that only certain rooms have it, as well as a micro oven. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Thanks to staffs like Benq and Minny. :-)

Stayed at Glow Pratunam for a shopping trip in Bangkok. Others have written about the great service, so I won't repeat it save to say that Ms Kratae who checked us in was pleasant and gave us an early check in even though we arrived at the hotel about 11 am.

You can tell that they have given a lot of thought and consideration when they fitted out the rooms. Lots of floor space, long luggage table on which can be placed 2 pieces of luggage easily, smooth laminated wood flooring which showed that it was very clean (as compared to carpets, which is harder to tell how clean it is).

The table top space ran about half the length of the room (which was very useful to put all the shopping!), rather than just a small desk. Cordless phone, clock radio with iPod dock, stationery were all provided. The Samsung flat screen TV and Grohe bathroom fittings showed that Glow didn't just get the lowest budget TV and fittings.

The best thing (which I haven't seen in other hotels) is the power sockets. These are placed at table height, so one doesn't need to crawl under the table or bed to plug it in, and have multiway socket adaptors built in which takes all the major types of power plugs (see picture). So if you are staying in Glow, leave the adaptors at home !

The key card only works when placed right side up in the slot, so if you can't get power in the room, try and change the orientation of the key card first. It probably detects a chip built into the card.

Our taxi driver from the airport wasn't familiar with the hotel, probably because its quite new. Look out for the neon pink entrance (see picture) between Starbucks and McDonalds. It's opposite Panthip Plaza and Grand Diamond Suites.

Breakfast was quite a good spread of both pastries and hot food, with an egg station where you can have your eggs done any way you like it. Food tip : for lunch and dinner, cross the road to the food court on Platinum mall level 6. Try stall 11 for their pad thai and glass noodles with prawns. Only about US$1 !

Location was good - close enough to all the shopping areas. About 300 m away was Central world, after crossing a bridge, and Siam Paragon was slightly further in the other direction. The BTS was a bit too far away to walk.

Some have written, mentioning that the lobby was on the 7th floor, but I see that as an advantage in the sense that there are no rooms lower than 7th, so there should be no issues about road or street noise. We were on a high floor with a good view facing Platinum mall. The hotel is also oriented north-south, so none of the rooms directly face the main road.

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations by offering modern, clean rooms, super friendly staff, a great breakfast buffet, a pool, and a decent gym. All in a good location with a short 10-15 min walk to the sky train. In my opinion it's also ridicoulusly cheap considering what you get for your money, and as icing on the cake the bed in our room was the most comfy thing I've ever had the pleasure to sleep in. After almost 3 weeks of travelling our bed felt like a soft, friendly cloud, hugging me and my girlfriend to sleep every single night. Simply awesome...

All in all I strongly recommend this hotell!

Stayed here for business. Despite the strange interchanging pink, blue and green exterior illumination (thus the name "Glow" but bad taste) , the hotel itself it quite decent. Reasonable price, clean and new interior and furnitures. Free wireless internet was decent even for business purposes. It even came with a small swimming pool and a gym. Front desk and doormen downstairs were very kind and helpful. It alos has a decent restaurant that is open pretty late. A bathtub would have been nice but cost performance is very high.

The downside is it's a bit far from the train station. Since I was here on business I was planning to use taxis to go to meetings, but the traffic jam is seriously bad in Bangkok and quickly realized that it's much more predictable to use the train where possible. This would probably be an excellent spot if you are on vacation and have more time (it's relatively close to major places).

Room Tip: Great for vacation, don't recommend for business.

Stayed 3 days from 11th - 14th January. Having spent 1hr 15mins in a taxi from airport(traffic was horrendous)only took half an hour on return,we were tired and hot, desperate to get some shut-eye. Reception was a bit slow and we were offered cool towels and a drink while we waited. Drink was revolting, don't know what it was, but other people had also left theirs on the table. Eventually to our room only to wait 15 mins for our suitcases(now getting irritated). However once it arrived everything was perfect after that. The room was spotless and had all the toiletries you would expect. The beds were divine. We had 3 beds in our room, a smaller one and two large single ones. Could have stayed in bed all weekend. The tv didn't have much for us English people. The breakfast was nothing special, but their dinners were good and not too overpriced for a hotel(although the beer was overpriced). All in all if I ever went back to Bangkok (which I won't be) I would not hesitate to stay at the glow again

We recently stayed in Glow Pratunam for 3 nights.

The hotel is new - you can tell by the furnishing in the room - very clean and neat.

Location is really great - Pratunam market is right beside it, and Platinum mall just a bridge away. You can even take a slow walk to Central and Big C.

We were greeted by friendly smiles everytime we walked past the reception.

I would stay here again on my next trip!

First off, I traveled together with my girlfriend amd another couple. This is my second time back to BKK but my first time staying in GLOW Pratunam as the previous time I went, this hotel wasn't even built yet. As recommended by my girlfriend who went recently, we decided to book this hotel.

I travelled light as our main objective there was to shop. We took the railway from the airport and alighted at Phayathai station and had a 15 minutes walk to the hotel. Once we reached the hotel, we were welcomed by friendly faces at the reception and we were directed to sit down at the lounge area. We were offered a welcome drink which is really cooling for the incredibly warm weather there. About 10 minutes later, we were invited to proceed to our room for our check in. I am very amazed by the space of the room for the price we had paid for. The bed was very comfortable which was very important for a shopping trip as you would need to rest up. The room was also sparking clean which was a real pleasure.

On the second day, we went for the buffet breakfast which was fairly good but not a lot of varieties. This hotel is located directly above Shibuya 19 Shopping Centre therefore you can also walk around if you would like. Prices there are usually cheaper than the ones you would get from Platinum Mall. The location was great as it is directly opposite Pantip Plaza and very near to Platinum. We went on the weekend and we went to Chatuchak by railway which was very cheap and faster than if you take a tuk tuk or taxi due to the crazy traffic jams there.

On the last day, the bell boy helped us to flag a taxi to the airport and it was by meter which was what we had wanted. We only had to pay extra 65 baht for the highway fee and the total cab fare was around 300 baht which was really cheap.

All in all, GLOW Pratunam deserve this high rating as we really enjoyed our stay there!! It'll be our first choice to stay next time!! Just maintain the standard it has now and this hotel can really go very far. A very pleasurable stay!!:DD
