Although this hotel was not in the center of Bangkok, it's easily reached by metro. I didn't use taxi at all during my one week stay, since I bought metro and skytrain cards that can be uploaded, when needed. From Suvarnabhumi I took airport train to Makkasan, where I changed to metro.

Hotel itself is quite big, but everything went OK, breakfast was delicious and there were a lot to choose from.

I took two our massage every evening in the hotel premises, and loved it. One hour thai followed by one hour oil massage makes wonders to you.

Chatusak weekend market is in the walking distance, if you don't want to take metro to there.

Room was gorgeous with marble toilet that had both shower and bath. Roomservice was good too. I don't have anything bad to say about this hotel.

I visited the hotel after my Phuket week, so I was here 2.6 - 9.6.2012.

Now calling this hotel a jewel is generous but I think it has potential, I just don't think it offers enough VALUE at prices it's offering.

The hotel is in good place 5min walk away from MRT. Room(s) was clean although a bit shoddy under the surface. Service and cleaning staff were excellent, although I was not allowed to use the gym because I didn't have proper trainers... Breakfast at 600b was too expensive for ordinary traveler like me but I've heard it is really good buffet, if you can afford it, that is. Minibar was fairly priced. There was a bathtub in toilet. The shower floor was dirty. I didnt explore spas or the swimming pool.

At 2000b/night this hotel would be good value but at the current 3000b something per night I think you can get a better deal somewhere else. But if you can afford it and necessary sleep in Ratchadapisek road, then by all means.

Room Tip: Try to ask a room with a view to the city and Sukhumvit, great view. :) Or to the other way, just take a room high up if you can. Also I had a room for smokers but didn't smell any smoke residue so that could be a nonfactor.

I stayed in the Chaophya Park Hotel from 9 nights and although the hotel is not in the main shopping or cultural area of hectic Bangkok, the one great plus is that it has the Rachadapisek MRT station right next to it. Thats a wonderful plus! If you are travelling lightly, with not much luggage it is even possible to come in from the airport on the MRT, and miss all the traffic! The hotel has large rooms, including the bathrooms and everything is kept very clean. Although the carpets are not perfect, and in the next round of renovations a subsitute of older carpet, would improve the look and freshness of the rooms substantially. The breakfast is a little overpriced at almost 20 dollars, although there is a fine coffee shop in the lobby if you can make do with a coffee and fresh croissant or Danish pastry as a start to the date. There is also a number of choices of resturants - Chinese, Japanese and well as Thai, on site. The hotel caters for conferences and package tourists. I was there to carry out some training, so I was out from early morning to late in the evening. It was a pleasant place to come back to. There is a small gym, a sauna, and on-site Thai massage, which are all welcome at the end of a long busy day.

I would recommend this hotel for travellers who are not looking to be in the heart of the buss of the city and need an economic and reliable place to rest after a hectic day.

Room Tip: Definally request rooms to the front of the hotel, although it is overlooking the car park, these are more pleasant than those at the back overlooking the canal.

this hotel is so far from the center but very close to BTS or subway, many complain about the location is far from the restaurant or food, well maybe you re not exploring enough :) because 3 BTS station from here is Huai Khwang is full of restaurant and also street food. they have small night market, yes its a local night market ! so the price even better than pat-pong or anywhere else, here they have from food to shoes ! in the night is greater for street photography, they have plastic surgery store on the side street with so many client waiting etc :) its a heaven for night photographers :) well about the hotel, the hotel is just average hotel, the furniture seem dated and also the room is bit old. they have swimming pool in 3rd or 2nd floor i forget but its a nice pool in the heat bangkok sun. they served breakfast in buffet with so many variety of western, american and local thai cuisine which so good :). in the night the lobby a little bit annoying from the bar singer :p but just go out walk to Huai Kwang area get your camera and Voila ! you can be street night photographers :)
