The Davis Hotel is easy to get to, from the airport, use AOT Transportation or make arrangements with the Davis Hotel staff to do a meet and greet at the airport upon your arrival. But the easiest is AOT Transportation. They know the location. Cost's about 60 dollars, 2,000 THbt to get there in a BMW 750Li from the airport to the hotel.
The Davis is located on Soi 24, off of Sukhumvit a main street in the city of Bangkok. However the Davis is between Sukhumvit and Ram 4 two main streets in Bangkok, but closer to the Rama 4. On Soi 24 there is great shopping, places to eat at, in fact it is a major area for tourist to stay and visits. Very safe to walk at night, or to any of all the shops, Subway, Carl's Jr., Emporium Mall (high end shopping mall). Almost anything you want to do is on Soi 24 where the Davis is located.
NOW the Davis Hotel: The Davis Hotel (main and Corner Wing) is a must stay. Excellent staff in every way. The staff is just a phone call away, answer any questions, 24/7. Excellent business center, Internet, laundry, room service, you name it, it's perfect. Need to mail an item express to America or Europe, consider it done. Right in the business center second floor Davis Hotel main. Excellent dining room for all meals. The breakfast and lunch buffets are the best. Rooms are cleaned daily, fresh towels, line, etc., every day. The staff is always prepared for anything you may need assistance on. Want to order something at 0330 in the AM? Consider it done, just call room service. Need a wakeup call to get out and go sightseeing before traffic? Done! Want a private car service for two hours or the day; the Davis will make that happen for you. Ride in one of the Mercedes and they will assign a driver to you for you requirements.
The Davis has so much to offer because of its location and how it situated in the city. It is just a great place to stay. Go to their web site and look at the private Thai Style suites that are located outside of the Davis main, and behind it. Just breath taking. It is like you’re in a private resort somewhere.
Another point that makes the Davis so attractive is the room types that are available. They have several options for you based on your requirements and of course cost base business or private. I have done both, stayed at the Davis on business and held conferences there in both 2011 and 2012. And then booked for a private vacation. I have been going and staying at the Daivs the past 3+ years.
One of my favorite things is after a long flight in from either Europe or the Middle East is check in, drop off my bags and head up stairs to the 9th floor to the Spa. What a treat, Thai massage, deep too!, Oil skin treatment, then steam shower, then just walk right out of the Spa area to the roof top pool and fall asleep in the sun in one of the deck chairs. Great breeze on the top floor, nice clean private and relaxing. In the Spa itself, it has a locker room, showers, changing area too which makes going to the pool and the Spa really convenient.
The one porblem I have when traveling is falling a sleep. Being able to do this is important. And do that without sleep aides or alcohol is important. The beds are just perfect, pillows too! And the staff can take the softer pillows out and replace them or do the opposite, take the harder pillows out or a mix, all you have to do is ask. And because the Davis is a little older of a hotel, one great advanatage is the A/C can be adjusted in your room/s. Yes, you can adjust it to either freeze and turn yourself into a ice cube or make it like a sauna like some people I know do. Adjust to your liking of comfort or desired setting as needed.
Again there is so much more, you have to stay here. I have stayed at the other hotels and paid 3-400 dollars a night and in some case more, why? I do not anymore, I stay at the Davis. It's location to all the other shops, etc. is just why it is so special. Missing your Star Buck's, not any more, the Davis has it in the Corner Wing outside off of Soi 24. Need your hair done, female/male, right up the street is Studio 999, EXCELLENT staff. Manicure or pedicure, no problem, same, Studio 999. Like fresh seafood, want no more. Come out of the Davis, either take a cab depending on weather and time of year (high season humidity and sweat) you face rain or the heat, turn right and stay on the Davis side of the street walk about 1K meters and go to an excellent seafood experience. All near the Davis! Susi, no problem, same thing, right next door is a great series of shops and places to eat and drink, "The White House".
Well that is on the Davis Hotel in Bangkok, but it is great! I stay here all the time when I have business conferences or meetings. It is the best for conveniences and its location to everything, but mainly the airport when exiting Thailand.
Going to Bangkok, stay at the Davis.
