This is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in, certainly the best city hotel. I was attracted by the fact it was brand new, contemporary design and the rooms offered were on a special opening rate of 50% off as the spa and another restaurant are not finished yet.
We did 3 nights here and it was a big contribution to the great time we had in Bangkok. After a long journey, my friends and I were overwhelmed and excited as to how chic and well designed the hotel was. We had 2 rooms, one with twin beds the other with a super king, both on the 25th floor with just amazing views, we were so happy when we saw our rooms! The bathrooms were big with separate walk in shower and free-standing bath with that amazing view once again. Beds incredibly comfortable, very big and with great pillows. All the extras you would expect from this kind of hotel-toiletries including shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, shower hat, shaving kit, tooth brush, vanity set, comb etc. Robe and slippers, umbrella. Air con and mood lighting. i really loved getting ready for a night out in this room, starting off with a bath overlooking the city.
The roof top pool is fab with bar stools and sunbeds in shallow sections of the pool. Round sunbeds and chilled music. When the hotel is busy I think people will struggle to get a sunbed as there are not many but it wasn’t an issue for us as the hotel wasn’t full.
Breakfast was good but a bit overpriced so we only had it once. There is a coffee shop on the ground floor which did croissants etc and better priced. Dinner was also good and the service throughout was excellent. Concierge and restaurant staff were very helpful and really friendly. After we ate in the restaurant on the first night, the manager then slid open a huge wooden door to reveal the Theatre Bar with its multi-coloured floor lights and a DJ that plays a few nights a week. Cocktails in here were 100 baht during happy hour and were really good. The spicy chili nuts were hot hot hot!! The bar was pretty empty but we went in here for drinks each night as really liked the environment.
Hotel is a brilliant location, right outside to the Sky Train BTS stop although no noise when sleeping. Its easy to get to from the airport and the Skytrain worked out to be about 35 baht per trip! Hotel is just a few stops away from the Siam paragon shopping Mall and it was also less than 100 baht in a taxi back from the temples, about 20 mins drive away or a boat ride with the nearest port being 10 mins walk away. It’s a short Tuk Tuk ride away to the Lebua for Sirocca Sky Bar wher you will pay £10 a drink, but the view is worth it. The bar was not too crowded as i had previously heard. Opposite Mode Sathorn is the Blue Elephant Restaurant offering Royal Thai Cuisine. Id really recommend this restaurant- they accommodated us without prior booking (although I would book if you can) and the food was really good and not terribly priced compared to fine dining in the UK and for the standard of food and service-£120 for 4 people for cocktails, wine, starter and mains.
I’d definitely want to stay in this hotel next time I visit Bangkok but I’m sure the rates will go up very soon. We paid £160 for 4 nights, you wouldn’t get the same class of hotel for even one night at that price in the UK! It would be great if the rates stayed this low please!!!
