Wat Arun, or the Temple of Dwan, is among the best known landmarks in Bangkok. It dates back to the 17th century. Its name derives from the first light of the morning that reflect off the surface of the temple which is encrusted with colorful porcelain. The Buddhist temple is easily approachable by boat through the Chao Phraya River. When visiting please adhere to the attire policy (covered knees, no shorts). The entrance is 50 Baht (approximately $1.65).

Beautiful breathtaking place. A must visit place. Approachable thru boats. Walk around and you will enjoy the beauty. Being a religious place, please put covered dress.

The temple has been beautifully maintained and it’s entry is very reasonable in comparison to other attractions near by! Easy access through the use of the hop on hop off boat as well. This was an enjoyable stop on our day exploring along the river.
