Description: By Customer Tripadvisor review... This smallish, cozy Italian restaurant in the heart of the city offers some of the best Italian food in Bangkok. Situated in a stand-alone Thai house, it has both indoor and outdoor seating and a room for private parties. The prices are average but the food is exceptionally good. There are weekly specialties on offer but the standard fair includes homemade pastas, salads, antipasti, fish, beef, lamb, chicken, and, of course, their famous pizza. They also have homemade desserts and an impressive wine list as well as a fully-stocked bar. Definitely worth a visit.

If you want to cut away from all the delicious ( but spicy ) thai food you have been guzzeling down this superb italian is the way to go!

Greeted by the owner this place was just what we needed! Self made pasta, good wine ( even the house wine is up to standards ) compementary in between appitizers and!! Good food all the way!

Dont look at the "normal" pizza menu but order the "Andrea" pizza's, the owner will tell you to order it anyway but his advice was solid!

We were a bit sceptical having italian in bangkok but this place delivers, and then some more

We are from Australia (couple 50+) and are devotees of Thai cooking but after a week of indulging we really needed a break and being from Australia, Italian is usually the chosen alternative. As readers would know, picking a good Italian restaurant in Bangkok is like picking a good Thai restaurant in Rome. So we relied on TripAdvisor's reviews and picked Il Bolognese. Really superb. Great Italian wine, great Italian food, great ambiance, great service. Sure, the wine made it slightly expensive but that was our choice. Wine in Thailand IS expensive (a strange tax regime) and at least this was a good wine. As others have said get your concierge to tell taxi driver where to go and bring the restaurant phone number with you just in case.

Great last night of our holiday.

Another restaurant reviewed by Tripadvisor readers, and it really is execellent. We've been twice this week and both times the food was excellent.
The best way to get there is by taxi, and your if you get the hotel doorman to explain the location to the driver, it will save you a lot of stress.
The service was attentive from the start. When we were ready to order, the owner came as we asked for recommendations, and he gave suggestions which we loved. We ordered a starter between us, which was Salumi (aged parma ham, speck, salami & mortadella) with Fried Gnocchi and olives. The fried gnocchi was light and non greasy, and we ate them with the salumi wrapped around or stuffed inside the gnocchi as the owner suggested.
For mains, we ordered a Pizza with Gorgonzola and Speck - delicious, and Spinach Ravioli with Spinach and sage butter. This was light, tasty and the ravioli pasta was thin and velvety. Then we finished off with a Tiramisu - very good and light.
At the end of the meal, we were given complimentary Lemoncello grappa - that was a perfect end to the meal.
For what it cost, it was really not too pricey (about Bt1800, considering we had wine and drinks).
I will definitely go back the next time we're in Bangkok.
One tip - if you go for dinner it is best if you ask the restaurant to get you a cab and explain to them where to take you - the area is very quiet at night, and it is not recommended that you walk to the BTS. Thai taxi drivers will tell you they understand where you want to go when they really don't, and always carry your hotel's address in Thai on you.

I like the atmosphere, it was homey with friendly staffs and manager ready to help you and recommend the dishes. The pizza is very good, the parma ham, and the vegetables are fresh and crispy. However, the seafood dishes and soup was quite bland.
I have to said that their chocolate moose was one of the best thing i've eaten in ll Bolognese
