Well worth the visit did not see this on my first trip to Bangkok but I am glad I did this time around. After the visit it is perfect to stroll about China town.

The Golden Buddha was a cool little stop to make in Bangkok and I would recommend visiting it to people who are staying in the area. It's cool for a few quick photographs and it is definitely the biggest Buddha statue I have seen. Whether it is good or bad depends on the traveler, but it is a very quick activity. This would only take about 5-15 minutes to enjoy, so I wouldn't plan too much time around it. For me this is a positive because I wouldn't want to waste much more time than that to see it. There is plenty of culture, food and exciting activities in Bangkok, so I would plan a quick morning stop off that doesn't throw you off from all the other things to see and do in this city.

We visited as part of a day tour from our cruise. The story about the Golden Buddha was interesting. It is certainly worth visiting and it is accessible for most fitness levels.

The temples itselfs are not an explicit highlight, Wat Pho is much more impressive, but the former got one highlight: the buddha statue which weighs 5.5 tons of pure gold! We especially liked the history behind the statue as it was only discovered that it was made of gold when there was an accident while switching the buddha between buildings and it fell down. ;)
A nice-to-see thing, especially when you are on your way to chinatown - just pass by for some minutes.
