If your at the Grand Palace why not swing in! Cool place to check out, doesn't take to long to walk around but certainly worth a look!

The beauty and craftsmenship of this Temple are a challenge to your senses. I was moved, excited and charmed by it all at the same time . I am so glad we had a guide with us so that we learnt a lot about the history of the Temple but he also then left us to explore at our leisure. Defineately a highlight of our trip

The highlight, I think, in my visit to the Grand Palace compound in Bangkok. A cute Budda statue high up surrounded by a massive conglomerate of guards (statues) and an impressive mixture of so many small details that it takes quite a while to take it all in. I suggest to sit down on the floor, even if you are not a Buddhist or believer of anything, to enable you to explore all the small details, and there is all the time more and more. An uplifting experience and a visit is 'obligatory' so if you do nothing else in Bangkok, I recommend a visit to Wat Phra Kaew, and look for the green on Buddha statue in the sea of all gold.

The complex that houses the temple of emerald buddha is beautiful and the story of the image amazing. Do visit to see one of the Bangkok's best maintained and most beautiful temples.

Fantastic temple, worth the entrance fee (500 baht) in my opinion. Thais go free I think which is understandable. We managed to get on a free tour with Ken at the entrance who was brilliant very informative and funny. The emerald Buddha is beautiful and we got to see the summer Buddha which is the most expensive and bejewelled. There is a strict dress code for the temple and adjoining palace both men and women must wear long pants and covered shoulders (a shawl is not good enough must be a shirt or t shirt ect). These can be hired but save yourself the hassle and the line up by being prepared. Make sure to visit the textile museum with all the queens outfits it's included in your ticket and a nice museum to wonder around with the added benefit of air con after all that walking in the heat.
