It was refreshing to see people actually worshipping in a temple. The Emerald Buddha was a little smaller than I expected but the building is beautifully decorated. Very interesting stop.

Be aware if someone tries to steer you to an alternative entrance! You will be told the temple is closed and someone will try to take you on another tour! This happens at other attractions too. Do not believe anyone who tells you that the place you are going to is closed.

Once you're in the Grand Palace you will hae see the Emerald Buddha. Its actually made from Jade and came from Chiang Mai and is quite small, sitting atop a large altar its almost invisible. No cameras allowed inside the Temple building. Make sure you make use of the Lotus flowers to sprinkle water on yourselves prior to entry as it's considered good luck.

the temple is overwhelming being full of gold, coloured mosaics, artworks and statues. the buddha looks small in the middle of all this splendor, but there is something special about him.
