Very nice paintings, carvings, smaller statue than expected- also Bangkok crowded with tourists from China/Korea etc-noisy and too busy after calmer Cambodia. Sites more indoors which probably exacerbated the feeling. Some may consider it magnificent.

Get off at Tha Chang(pier 9) via Chao Phraya express boat....walk to Grand palace. once you buy the ticket (500baht),the first place you will reach is Temple of Emerald Buddha.
It a nice wat but no photography allowed. Dont expect a huge green buddha as you see in lots of other temples.
The place is really crowded so try to visit early.

The temple itself is great to walk around and look at. The Emerald Buddha was not what I was expecting. It really small, and located far and high back into the temple. Don't expect to get to have a close look.
