All this place is a "wow". Once i was inside i regret to not hire a guide!... i had so much to ask... and the books they sell inside don't say anything different than Wikipedia so hire the Guide!

The Temple and it's surroundings are remarkable like the other temples the art is unique and the colors are alive. The inside room of the temple where the emerald buddha is has an old caretaker who poked my back and shouted at me when i took picture of the emerald statue. He is so rude! I think he just have to come closer and reprimand the person in a civilized manner, The emerald stone is worth seeing but do not take picture of it!

A very sacred and a colourful temple. There are seveal sites to see within the temple. Sitting in front of the Emerald Buddha is a very peacefull experience. Better to obtain the services of a guide understand the various aspects at the temple complex. Go early morning so you can walk about before it becomes hot outside. Also ensure that you are properly dressed since this is a religious site. There are strict guidelines - tops with sleves, long dresses/trousers and covered toes are a must for entry. Although a visit to the next door palace is included in the ticket we found that you cannot really go inside the palace and can only see it from a distance

Always very busy, but this is the most important Temple all visitor should visit. See that you have a good guide who can explain many things to you. All travelbooks are incomplete, you will miss the most important things. A good Thai guide with good language skills is the best way to learn about this temple.. Be carefull for some guide for hire at the entrance (don't pay to much). Test them first on there language skills, make good agreements, and how long the tour will last. You need a minumum of 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Don't agree on a price per person, agree on price for service.
