It was nice but overhyped a bit. Its one of those been there done that never need to do it again. Its almost impossible to get a picture by yourself due to the sheer amount of people there at the same spot by the feet.

this was the second Wat of the day, after the grand palace and before wat arun and wat saket.
we got a free bottle of water on entry, the sight the wat is set on is fantastic, some of the buildings and areas are truly amazing to see.
the highlight is the reclining Buddha,it is a true wow moment, you visit bangkok you must come here.

We were herded in and I feel charged rather a lot as entrance fees go but compensated with a bottle of free water (for tourists) which was a boon as it was extremely hot. We had to remove our shoes (of course) and little bags were provided to carry them. The toilet facilities were inadequate and the overall feeling of the visit was one of trying to make as much money as possible (from the sale of the prayer coins) which were collected rather unceremoniously and recycled at regular intervals. I thought the process could have been more discreetly done. I suppose it didn't help that we went on one of the holiest days and there were lots of people there wanting to pay their respects.
The Buddha itself is breathtaking in his size and splendour. He has mother of pearl under his feet. Well worth a visit.

Great place to visit and, as with all the Temples, a lovely magical place with so much history.

Easy to find but can get busy in the afternoon. Watch out as usual for the scam artists in the area but generally felt like a safe place to visit even if traveling alone.

cheaper to enter than the Grand Palace and a better place to visit, only the boat trip on the river makes it unpleasant but once you get there it is okay. They even give a free bottle of water. The only thing we wished was an air conditioner!
