It was nice to hear that you appreciate our hotel's location. Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your Bangkok visit.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
I love this hotel. I've stayed here twice. There are plenty of great restaurants and massage places, pharmacy and 7-11 all in walking distance. It's a short walk to the river and a short taxi ride to Wat Pho, the national museum, and the Grand Palace. Some day tours leave from this hotel and taxi drivers know it. The restaurant is also goo, but there are plenty of great, less expensive places just steps away.
The drawbacks are that it's noisy with all the bars and restaurants until quite late, so request a room away from the street, and also, it's very popular with tourists (which may appeal to you) so if you want less westerners and a more authentic Thai experience, you may want to wander a bit.
Dear Valuable Guest,
We are happy to hear that you took time to stroll around to discover beautiful temples, interesting shops, and wonderful restaurants within our location. We truly apologize about the street noise. We are much aware of the issue and constantly do all we can to provide comfort to our guests.
Thank you for choosing us. We look forward to seeing you again.
The Viengtai Hotel is about an hours taxi drive from the airport (on a good day) and will cost you about 150 Baht on the metre ($4 / £3). The hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious with air condition, free wifi and room service and laundry. There is a pool within the hotel however I didn't get change to visit it.
The location is ideal, right in the hustle and bustle of the ever adapting city. Shopping centres, temples, good restaurants and a night market are all within walking distance.
The food in the hotel is very nice and the staff are helpful and very customer focused. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. If however you are wanting a decent nights sleep, you may have to specify as some rooms don't block out the street noise.
Dear Valuable Guest,
Thank you for writing your review of us. We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful time while staying with us.
We look forward to servicing you once more in a near future.
As per the title, the best thing going for Viengtai is its location. The hotel itself is less than average, and definitely do not stay here if you want any sleep. The bars downstairs will keep you up all night with their music and the noise of plenty of drunk tourists. If you are in Bangkok for a good time and want somewhere cheap to keep your clothes than Viengtai would be fine.
The outdoor pool is quite nice, however the gym is really nonexistent. It had three pieces of equipment in it and a sign saying closed for renovations, however there were absolutely no renovations happening.
Be aware of the wet bathrooms also.
Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you for taking time to write your review on Tripadvisor. We appreciate your thoughts on our surrounding and our hotel. Please accept our apology for the malfunctioned equipments inside our gym. The problem has now been rectified and the gym facility is fully operational.
This hotel was absolutely amazing - it intriduced us to Thailand in teh best way! The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are neat and spacious. it is perfectly located to the party street (which is incidentaly parallel to teh hotel). The nightlife in the area is amazing and easy to get anywhere from there. A definite winner here! I will go back anyday!!!!
Dear Maria M,
We are delighted to learn that you were happy with our services and facilities. Thank you for choosing us and writing your review. We hope to see you again soon.
Stayed here with my wife and three year-old daughter as part of recent trip. Spent our first two days after arrival in Bangkok at the Viengtai, and liked it enough to spend our last day there upon return from the south.
We sprung for deluxe poolside room, and heard no noise at all. I'd agree with others that this may be worth the extra money. We found the location to be perfect - easy walk to Khao San and lots of restaurant options. Front desk staff was friendly. Had breakfast with the initial stay, and enjoyed it.
Our departing flight was very early, and we arranged a taxi with the front desk. This was probably not necessary, as the street was still very much alive at 3:30am. We were quoted a flat price of 500 baht, to include tolls. This was a bit higher than the 350-450 baht we'd paid with other airport rides (seems variable, even with the meter on), but wasn't unreasonable.
Bottom line, was a good experience and we would stay there again.
