We stayed at the Indra Regent Hotel for 6 nights from Dec 4, 2013 with a family of 5. We stayed in the Lanna Suite which was 2 rooms joined in the middle by its own private foyer that was also secure. There were 5 of us, so this suited us great. The downside was that started looking a bit aged and needed a freshen up, but that didn't mean it was bad. The great thing was that the room was clean and tidy and was always kept clean by the hotel daily. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. The pool was welcoming, however the tiles surrounding the pool were extremely slippery and rather dangerous when wet.

Breakfast was nice enough and they did offer a omelettes cooked for you to your liking.

Overall as I said a nice stay, it is in the heart of Bangkok and close to most sights in the city. Grand Central and MBK are about a 15minute walk away.

Room Tip: We were on level 13 and were in rooms 1339 and 1341 which were joined. It suited our family of 5 ex...

We stayed at the Indra years ago and had a great time when we were there - so thought we'd give it another go. This proved to be a mistake. Staying at the Indra was not a horrible experience but I would take the view that with the plenitude of great hotels in Bangkok they will not get our business again.
The room was great - top floor with a skyline view. Everything worked. TV was small.
Porters were really busy but very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was adequate.
Other service staff were a bit bureaucratic.
The hotel is full of facilities that nobody uses because they are too expensive and/or not very good. You would need to take out a mortgage for the Spa.
Wi Fi costs 250 baht for an hour!
So if you are part of a huge Indian family and want to stay close to the Indian part of town this place is ideal - otherwise I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room on the 17th floor

We stayed at the Indra Regent Hotel in August with a group of family and friends - 13 in total. We have stayed here many times, the staff always remember you and make you feel welcome with their warm and friendly greetings. The reception staff are friendly and super efficient - their speedy check in is always good after a long flight! As reception is your first point of contact with the hotel it is good to have great service as first impressions always count. Another, as usual, awesome member of the staff is the Bell Captain - Choom. Once again thank you Choom for always making sure everything was ok, and every time - very helpful!!, thanks also GM Udom Mr. Breakfasts were plentiful and a good choice of foods - hot and cold. Rooms were value for money. The pool and bar area were a great place to cool down and have a beer on a hot day. The hotel is very central to almost anything you want to see and do. I do hope management read these reviews and staff mentioned get some acknowledgement.

We just checked out after staying three nights at the Indra. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one is because the Breakfast Buffet was quite good. And, the gentleman at the omelete station was very pleasant and tried his best to give excellent service. Other than him, however, the entire hotel staff is trained extremely well on how to make sure you are charged every penny, but horribly trained relating to actual guest services.

The overall guest experience at this hotel was probably the worst I have ever experienced. Bathroom has mold, water didn't work for an extended period. One day no one cleaned our rooms even though our door sign to clean up was hanging most of the day. Hotel has a poolside bar/restaurant. However, when I needed to order something, I usually had to walk up to the actual server's station to get anything. Wifi was incredibly expensive and was not available in the room. I had to go to the lobby to be able to use it. I was told there was Wifi by the pool, but there is no place to plug in the computer if you wanted to use an electrical outlet. Upon checkout, we had to wait until they "checked" the rooms before we could complete the process. We felt more like school children than appreciated guests at this hotel. The staff themselves did not appear to enjoy their jobs or agree with all of the hotel policies themselves. So, I assume the lack of guest services comes from the top.

We simply will not consider this hotel in the future.

I have recently returned from a stay at the Indra, Once again I was made feel very welcome.
Mr Bob the front office manager, Choom day bell captian, Little Bobby the night bell captain and Kitty from the restaurant and all their staff were excellent Nothing was too much trouble for any of them .The reception staff were polite and very knowledgable and eager to please.
The room maid on the 8th floor was lovely and did a great job, Also the guy's from the Chandalier bar were delightful.
Yes the hotel is looking a bit tired, However I will always return to the Indra because the staff, location and value are second to none.

Have stayed here many times, no maintenance and needs badly to be done. Rained and the room you could smell mildew, bath old and tired, water coldish and low flow. Air conditioner works badly, hallway I could smell urine. Whole hotel is tired and needs a lot if repair. Better value in the area. Reception was rude and would not let us have our paid for breakfast so we went outside and ate, internet forget it, expensive and you can get in free outside the hotel in nearby restaurants. We won't return. Msg received by hotel staff was wrong and response was staff was tired.... What!
