Sillom Village Inn is an excellent place to stay if you do not want to splurge but are not exactly counting your pennies. The ambience is great, actually looks like a small village...a few shops to buy Thai crafts.. excellent food, though a little pricey....and at night its lit up and stands out as a place worth a visit. Its right on Silom Road, the sky train a bit of a walk away, but then everything else can be reached on foot. The staff is ever so helpful and always willing to oblige. Breakfast not included but a lovely open faced coffee shop right at the door. Lots of stalls along Silom road, to eat and shop.

This is a good hotel in bangkok. It is far from airport. It takes 1 to 2 hour to reach their. About room service, reception, cleanness ... everything was fine.. There is a market for classical and traditional things behind this hotel, which is fine.

I stayed here in November 09 and enjoyed hotel whilst being critical of receptionists.
This time I stayed two nights 22 23 Jan and following trip to Koh Samet 28 Jan to Feb 2.
I stayed in 3 different rooms all of which were clean quiet secure and received prompt chambermaid cleaning on daily basis.
I accidently left a shirt and some clothes behind after 23 Jan. The receptionists went out of there way to ensure these clothes were returned to me promptly. They also gave me de lux room at superior price for two nights because all rooms were fully booked.
This is a business part of town and I get the impression receptionist staff sometimes give an effecient business like vibe which could be perceived as unfriendly.
I also noted they work long hours and they are having to deal with problems from tourist who are from all parts of the world and speaking different languages, Cant be easy!
As I was departing awaiting my taxi to airport in lobby the lovely young girl receptionist who works mornings came round passing tangerines to everyone. Nice touch!
I look forward to going back to Bangkok again in the autumn and will definately go back to this charming place which grows on you

While staying at the Silom Village Inn, [--])our safe was robbed. We were told by the front desk that the safes were safe, that no one knew the code other than front desk employees. We asked that our room not be cleaned on the second day we were there, but it was entered by the maid. We filed a complaint with the Bangkok police department. The hotel did have cameras located in the hallway and said they could show anyone entering the room. The hotel said they would view the information on the cameras and we would be contacted by e-mail concerning this theft, but we have not been contacted. We have contacted them via e-mail, but have heard nothing. This was definitely robbed by an employee of the hotel - not all of the funds in the safe were taken, no passports or other valuables were taken, only cash. JUST WANT TO WARN OTHER TRAVELERS IF USING THIS HOTEL DO NOT PUT CASH OR UNREPLACABLE ITEMS IN THE SAFE AS IT IS NOT SAFE.

There is not much to the rooms, the beds are clean and the room is spacious. There is no view, no lobby to speak of and the staff is not very helpful.

However, the location is great. It is just a few blocks from the sky train and close to the night bazaar.

The price is good for what you get.
