My family and I stayed at the Somerset twice over a 3 week period at the start and end to our holiday. The staff were fantastic in every way. We had a 2 bedroom deluxe apartment. The apartment was huge, the bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious as was the living and dining areas. Everything was clean, the beds were king size and made up daily. The outlook was also very good from the balconies. With two kids we weren't tripping over each other and there were 3 TV's in each apartment. The food was great and at very reasonable prices with a good selection of western and thai food. The buffet breakfast also offered both cuisines and a wide variety. The freshly cooked omelettes were to die for. Room service and restaurant prices were the same. They have their own mini mart in the parking garage which sells snacks, ice creams, soft drinks, beer and spirits plus toiletries etc. These are all at 7-eleven prices. The kids loved it. The pool and gym area was also fantastic, the pool is undercover but the pool chairs were in the sun. I found this great as the kids were able to swim in the pool without sunscreen and the water was refreshing rather than warm, like pools exposed to the sun all day. The gym had everything. The Hotel is in a clean suburb, a 15 minute walk to Silom Central, The Subway and Skytrain, Patpong Rd and Lumphini Park. The Hotel also offers a free Tuk Tuk Service (up to 6 pax) to any of these places during daylight hours. Only about 50 baht by taxi. The Concierge and Porters will get you a cab to anywhere and explain to the driver where you want to go. No hassles from taxi drivers that picked you up from the hotel, whereas, in the streets that can be a different experience. I would stay there again and again. My friends stayed elsewhere in Silom and had average rooms and were charged alot for beer etc. where the mini mart sold them for 30-40 baht each.

As soon as I walked into the property I was immediately impressed by the beautiful gardens out the front. The entry room, lounge room and dining area were all modern and clean. The room was excellent with stunning views, spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms and great amenities. The location was not great, however the hotel were very efficient with providing transport to and from the hotel. The buffet breakfast was exceptional as well as the pool and fitness area which were large, clean and modern. All in all an extremely beautiful place to stay.

I traveled alone to Bangkok. This was my first ever foreign trip. So, I was little apprehensive about how am I going to live through this. All my fears are gone once I reached this amazing place. I stayed here for 3 weeks without even realizing that my trip has come to an end.... all thanks to this wonderful place.

Food is simply delicious. No words to explain the variety (very wide. PS: I had only break fast here)
Rooms & service are both great. Very spacious rooms; including mini kitchen and dining area.
Staff are very friendly & helpful.

There is play area for kids & lawn as well to relax.

It was our second time in bangkok and we enjoyed staying at the Sommerset for 3 consecutive weeks. The staff are amazing, the food of the restaurant is good (you can also get delivery into your room from outside restaurant). The price is very cheap and the pool is nice, altough there's a roof in top of the pool, so it can get cold sometime. The location is very safe and very close to the sky train. The hotel also offers a free tuk-tuk ride to the Silom Shopping Center (which is close to the sky train).
There's also free internet access in the room!

Stayed here for a few nights before heading to Koh samui. Very clean, walking distance to Patpong and life, on a fairly busy street but no noise travelled to rooms.Beds to get lost in, never actually used any of the cooking facilities, just the large fridge for cooling the beers etc. Breakfast was superb with lots tro choose from and the staff were very friendly. The only improvement area would be the the pool area on the 4th floor which gets limited sun. VFM
