This hotel is at the very far end of Sukhumvit Soi 5. There's currently lots of construction going on, and In the 6 nights we stayed there, the sewage on the street flooded twice. The hotel decor is dated and old, while the service staff also have a sort of resigned and unhappy air about them with the exception of a few.
Our rooms on the 17th floor were clean, large and quiet, furnished with comfortable beds and Samsung televisions. However the bathrooms reeked of sewage and the pipes were noisy at night. There is no room safe or free wifi - they charge 100 baht for an hour, and only one device can use it at any time. We had 2 complimentary bottles of water a day with our stay, but after we checked out and returned to the hotel to collect our luggage and requested for one bottle, the lobby staff wanted to charge us 10 baht. The restaurant straight-out refused and we got one ourselves for 5 baht down the street.
The breakfast costing 307 baht a person is totally not worth it when you can get a filling, tasty meal at the Foodland cafe for less than 1/4 of the price. We tried it one morning and unanimously declared the only good thing in the entire buffet to be the plain porridge.
It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk to the main road, and a further 5-10 to get to Nana BTS. Plenty of food can be found on the street, with a Foodland supermarket nearby featuring a 24 hour cafe. The hotel is located within the Middle Eastern enclave, so there were kebab stands aplenty at night as well. We had the best phad thai in our trip at a street stand one soi away (soi 3, I think). For more international creature comforts, there's MacDonalds and Starbucks at the main road (alas no free wifi there either).
The hotel features a small swimming pool as well as a billiards room that closes way too early for a vacation schedule! The fitness centre looks super run-down with rusty and dirty equipment.
There are several massage parlours at the ground floor, but don't bother going to Milky Way (right at the foot of the hotel). Unfortunately we did not have the luxury of trying others during our trip, so I am unable to report on them.
At night, the area becomes very crowded with street stands selling porn and related stuff, so if that's really not what you'd like to see in your trip I would suggest you stay at a different region.
