“Pretty good place to stay”

The location is excellent and surrounded by the buzz of Bangkok. With a bit of a facelift, the rooms could very well be 4 or 5 star as most would have excellent views from the 15 or so levels, and are spacious with comfortable king-size bed and good sized, well functioning bathroom. Has all the services of a international hotel (including the 'generic' atmosphere) and a good buffet breakfast which is included. Overall, the hotel is a bit ragged round the edges, but very good value for money.
The only off-putting thing I found was the concierge (several of them + friends) who constantly assail with offers of cheap taxis or city tours when you are wandering out the door.

My daughter and I stayed at the Zenith hotel for 4 nights. Found it to be a pretty average standard hotel. The reception area was very bland and very uninviting looking , no atmosphere. staff were Ok. Our hotel room was bulk standard but a bit concerned when one of the electrical wall sockets was loose. Not very generous with bathroom towels for 2 people and tea & coffee supplies. A bit disconcerting that the bathroom tiles could do with new sealant. However, the roof top pool was great and you can see a good view of Bangkok. Basically, picked this hotel as it was within a few minutes walk of the BTS Skytrain service which was very convenient. The bedroom walls not very well sound-proofed as for a couple of nights we were kept awake by the room next door as they were talking very loudly and their TV was on loud. Breakfast buffett was fine although they couldn't give me green tea at breakfast instead of tea/coffee (the other hotels had no problem with this request.) Hotel didn't appear to be full and one evening when we took advantage of their free drink coupon at the bar, we found that we were the only ones in the bar (we quickly left after we consumed our drink!). Hotel convenient for the shops and Skytrain.

My wife & I stayed at the Zenith Sukhumvit from 20 – 26 May 2005. We arrived early, our flight having arrived at Don Muang airport at 6.00. Top tip – avoid the taxi touts and make your way to the taxi rank outside the terminal. Our taxi was around 200 baht as opposed to 600+.

We arrived at the hotel around 7.45. The sign at the desk stated that check–in was after 2.00 pm. However, they provided us with a complimentary coffee whilst they sorted out our room and we were ensconced by 8.30. The room was more than satisfactory with complimentary bathroom gels, detergent, cotton wool buds & shower caps. The room also had Satellite TV, tea and coffee making equipment, a safe, minibar & hairdryer.

We started our day with the buffet breakfast which included western and eastern choices as well as a range of fresh fruit. We then usually adjourned to the roof top swimming pool for a bit of sunbathing for an hour or so before going out shopping.

This trip we visited the Suam Lum night bazaar, but were not overly impressed. We also had a traipse around the Chinatown market, which is excellent for materials, but not much else. We found the Pratunam market much better for bargains. However, I still believe the Chatuchak market has the best bargains.

Our evening meals were usually spent in the café area of the Foodland supermarket. This can be found opposite the Amari Boulevard Hotel in Soi 7 off the Sukhumvit Road. The menu is excellent and for value for money is unbeatable.

Local bars that we visited include Gullivers in Soi 7 off the Sukhumvit Road, The Bamboo Bar in Soi 3 (Nana) (beware the pool sharks). Night and Morning (great music) in Soi 4 off the Sukhumvit Road (opposite the Nana hotel) and the first bar at the entrance to the Nana bar area (great for people watching).

The Zenith is an ideal base and is close to the Skytrain and the Sukhumvit Road areas.
Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

This was the first hotel we stopped at when we arrived in Bangkok. We were a little unsure of what to expect when we booked it on the internet as we only paid about £27 a night, however when we got there it was gorgeous! We felt that the standard of the hotel was higher than a 3 star.
The staff were so helpful, they really made us feel welcome. I was also very impressed with the breakfast - I thoroughly recommend trying one of their omelettes which are freshly cooked to order.
We found the leisure facilities excellent. They have obviously recently refurbished the gym as the equipment was brand new. The swimming pool is on the roof. This was one of the reasons that we picked this hotel - we had sunshine all day long! We thought the pool (and the jacuzzi overlooking it) were lovely. It was so tranquil 19 floors up in the middle of a city, whilst the view of Bangkok was breathtaking.
The location was brilliant, we found being near skytrain stations very handy for visiting other parts of the city during the day and there are some fab bars within walking distance with great nightlife.
We couldn't fault our room, the king size bed was so comfy and I can't tell you how impressed we were with the power shower, it was definitely the best shower I've ever had.
I would without a doubt stop at this unbelievably good value for money hotel again. The only bad thing I have to say about my stay is the fact I didn't get the opportunity to eat in the dimsum restaurant there!!

We were in Bangkok for a wedding and my brothers Thai wife to be booked us all into the Zenith. We each had Hemingway club rooms that were of a good size, clean with views of the city.

One of the best things about the hotel is its location, just off the Sukhumvit road. There's loads of decent restaurants around and you're close to one of the sky train stations. Also close is Nana Plaza (if that's your cup of tea). I preferred the Bamboo Bar just down the road. Live music most nights and a great atmosphere.

There's a recently refurbished Spa where I enjoyed two fabulous one hour Oil Massages (approx 900 Baht).

On top of the hotel is a fair sized swimming pool and snack bar.

Breakfast is served until 10am and was OK with nice fresh fruit. We ate in the restaurant on one occasion and again this was OK.

Hotel bar has a singer/Karaoke on most nights. Also very friendly staff.

To sum up, if you want real luxury and price isn't too much of an issue then stay somewhere else. If you want somewhere nice to stay, that's affordable and close to the action then the Zenith might be for you.
