We stayed here for our last 3 nights in South East Asia at the end of an exhilarating 3 and a half months. Much earlier in our trip we had stayed at the sister hotel next door Nuovo City. New world is cheaper and older but the staff are pretty much the same.

The room was big, clean. Big fridge, good air con, quiet with an OK tv. Shower room was basic but clean.

I am giving it 4 stars because it was pretty cheap, close to Thanon Khao San, the staff were very helpful.

I stayed here for a couple of nights, and the hotel is relatively quiet and clean. Sure, there are a lot of options around this area, some substantially cheaper or more expensive. I do think you get what you pay for - this place ia about average, the room was spacious whith a very small balcony (designated smoking area). My water heater didnt work well, so the shower was lukewarm.. also some flying ants in my room on the second nights, which was the reason for lower rating. Other than that, I had no issue here. They do have a lift, but it's slow. It is attached to Nuevo World Hotel, which looked newer and cleaner.

I stayed in New World City Hotel (the old part). The hotel is old but very clean, the breakfast is nothing to write home about (unless you write home about people eating noodles with coleslaw for breakfast), but I like this hotel for its excellent location that is close enough to the hustle and bustle of Thanon Kao San but far enough away from it, the flame trees out the window over the klong which are beautiful and the small balcony that overlooks them, the fact it's a muslim hotel and doesn't tolerate sex tourism and the large comfortable rooms that are clean.

everything about this hotel is fine, nothing amazing, nothing poor, just plain old average.
the rooms are good size with everything you need. The location is good and you can easily reach Khao Shan Rd on foot, and also Golden Palace, Wat Pho are approx 30min walk.
Not much more to say about it really, about the only complaint is that noise can sometimes travell thru the rooms.

Booked to stay for two nights but left after first night. Very run down, old and noisey in the morning as the floors below rooms are offices, people shouting in corridors from very early in the morning. Breakfast left a lot to be desired, tables dirty, food everywhere, watched what was meant to be drinking water being poured from a big bucket into the dispenser?? decided to give it all a miss so to save the belly. Shower in room hot but had leak in bathroom so floor wet, some old slippers left for us to use, but dont know whos feet had used them before??? Place smelt funny but you could not put your finger on what it was, didnt sleep at all as was watching for bugs.new hotel in front looks very nice but this part of hotel i would give a miss.

We stayed her on the way through Bangkok and as it wasnt our first time to the city we expected that for the price this hotel would be decent. Although the staff were very friendly and helpful the room really let the hotel down! We upgraded to a deluxe double but as far as we could tell the only extras were a fridge and a TV. The room was very clean and was cleaned on a daily basis but the shower was terrible! So poor that in order to shower you had to hold the nossel, not what you expect from a "deluxe" room! The aircon was so loud, sounded like it was going to take off, so you either had to put up with 40 degree heat or try sleep on the run way at Heathrow. The breakfast was not great witht he food being cold and the hotel also advertises a pool but you have to pay 300 baht to use the the one next door at tye sister hotel. Final straw for us ws that we were charged 20 baht a print out as hotel guests! All in all not a pleasant start to our trip!

With the opening of their sister hotel Nouvo City Hotel in January 2011 and the fast development of the area around Th Samsen, the clientele of New World City Hotel has changed. The stay at this place wasn't very pleasant, there were crowds of noisy French and Russians groups that were slamming doors at 2 am and screaming wihout any consideration for others.
The hotel has no acoustic insulation, the walls are thin and you hear the people in the neighbouring rooms. Quality and cleanliness differ from room to room. The airconditioners are very noisy and often leak water.
