“Great Hotel.Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 3 nights in early September. The hotel is located in an ideal spot away from the city centre, but is close to Victory Monument Sky Train station, which is a 10 minute walk away.
The hotel is plush and the lobby is a work of art. The staff are helpful and always on hand if you need anything.
Our Superior room was on the 17th floor and gave us great views of the city. The room was a good size, with a tiled bathroom satellite Tv and mini bar. The bed was a little on the firm side, but was a good size, so if you stirred, you won't wake up your partner!
Breakfast was plentiful buffet style set-up and was included in the booking. It caters for all tastes, so you won't go hungry.
Top Tips
Get the Sky Train when travelling round the city. It's about £3.00 for a day pass and only has 2 lines. The trains run frequently, are clean, quiet and safe. Avoid any Tuk Tuk drivers or Taxis that won't switch the meter on. A lot of the time, they will try and take you to jewellery shops as they are on commission.
Shopping in Bangkok is sublime. Siam Paragon is the most expensive and sells designer clothes, jewelry and top of the range cars. Siam Centre is middle of the road (Trafford Centre) and more affordable. Finally, if you like designer clothing at knock bottom prices such as R Marney, Lacost, Kartier, MBK is the place to go. Some of the clothing is obviously dodgy, but as the places is 6 floors of Market stalls, you'll have plenty of choice and places to check out.
As we only had 3 nights, we took a tour of the Palace, the 100foot Buddha and the gold Buddha. Highly recommended.
Finally, look on Trip Advisor for restaurants as some vary. We ate out every night and had no issues at all, although the Thai Curries at HOT! Be warned.
Bangkok is a lively and vibrant city and we loved it. I hope you do too

We stayed at the century park 6 years ago and this hotel just gets better .Rooms are comfortable and clean and there is a good selection at breakfast.Staff could not do enough to help you at all times .We also used the hotel free shuttle service which takes you to the main shopping areas and as there was only 2 of us they used the hotel limousine to transport us .

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in the beginning of our tour of Thailand adventure, and then 2 nights at the end. The lobby was nice, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was great (however on the first day we were told it was $18 a person- for just breakfast? Yikes expensive! Thankfully we found out the second morning on that it was included in our room. Was confused as to why we had to pay the first day?). The area around this hotel is quite dirty as well, however we enjoyed walking around just to experience the culture.

Some of the staff can be quite rude, which once we traveled outside of Bangkok we quickly realized rudeness was NOT the Thai culture by any means.

Also, internet doesn't work in the rooms, you have to pay for it in the lobby (whether it worked or not- we were charged, and we were forced to pay, And it didn't work more than it did), AND you have to pay for internet in the business center. When I say pay, it's like $1 a minute. Adds up fast...

One GREAT feature- the shower had AMAZING water pressure! Loved it!

All in all, a nice, decent hotel in a dirty area.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the start of Sept 2013. Hotel was great, lovely decor and very clean. Even though the hotel is central and next to busy roads there was surprisingly no noise in the room. Bedrooms where nice and spacious however the bed was a little on the hard side. Power shower was great after a long flight. Breakfast was great with loads of choice. Although we never used the pool we did have a walk round it and it looked lovely and clean, One thing I would say is to watch out for the staff at the front door, we got chatting to one of the valet guys about getting around the city and he said he would use the hotel car and take us to Siam Square unfortunately we ended up with a detour via a tailor shop who he kept saying this shop was his sponsor. luckily enough we saw the funny side, however not everyone may take his pushiness so light heartedly. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again whilst in Bangkok.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in September 2013. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel based on some of the other reviews and that fact that it's not one of the better known hotels in Bangkok. Check in was very quick and efficient and we were soon in our room which is what you need after a long flight. The hotel lobby, corridors and our room looked as though it has recently been refurbished and was tastefully done. We were on the 12th floor and overlooked the temple complex below. We didn't eat in the hotel other than breakfast which was adequate for a short city break stay but no longer. I did sample one of the cakes from the lobby coffee shop which was delicious and too tempting to resist! Bed was hard but typical in Asia but it was spotlessly clean with all necessary amenities. The hotel isn't in a popular touristy area but for us it gave us a chance to get a flavour of the true city and we found several bars in short walking distance for a drink after the evening out before retiring for the night. In particular on our first night we chanced on a small local place nearby ( don't know the name but further down Ratchaprapop Road on the same side at the cross road intersection ) which served excellent food and great value too, in fact my husband rated it the best Thai green curry of our 11 night trip and all for 385 bahts for 2 mains, rice and 3 large Chang beers!! Taxis were cheap enough and the Skytrain easy to use to get to all parts of the city ( turn right out of the hotel and then cross over at the traffic lights and walk down towards Victory Monument ) . The hotel also runs a free shuttle bus service to Siam and other locations. We booked to use this service at reception but would recommend you do it direct with the concierge at the door as there was a mix up with our booking , poor communication more than anything but quickly resolved. Nice pool area too.

Our three day stay went smoothly. Check in and check out were efficiently done although the reception staff had some difficulty with understanding and speaking the English language. Maybe it was our NZ accent. They were friendly and polite.

Our room was comfortable, spacious and well appointed except for the pillows - there was only one each. I sometimes need two for health reasons and luckily on this occasion I didn't need two, but would have been stuck if I needed two in the middle of the night.

The buffet dinner on Friday and Saturday nights was excellent. Breakfast was middle of the road. Although they offered some cereals I was surprised there was no muesli.

The hotel's location was a bit out of the way for tourists so we used taxis which weren't that expensive to get to places like Jim Thompson's House, MBK shopping complex, etc. The cost of the taxi was about the same as using the Sky Train. The latter necessitates a 5-8 minute walk from the hotel through some rather tatty street surroundings.

A couple of tour companies have desks at this hotel and we found the Tour East company excellent. They organised three tours for us and both the staff and the tours were excellent. They picked us up and delivered us back to the Hotel each time.

All hotel staff were friendly and did their utmost to make you feel welcome

Last time we were in Bangkok, which was a few years ago, we stayed at this hotel, so our expectations were high, due to the service we received on that visit.
Initially, we weren't disappointed. Our check in at reception went without a hitch. The staff were very friendly, efficient and extremely polite.
Our room was very clean, modern and met all of our requirements, with a lovely view over the city, especially at night time.
We ate in the restaurant, both for breakfast and also for dinner, during our stay.
From a dinner perspective, we could not fault the the staff, nor the food, both were excellent.
However, breakfast was a different story. There were four of us in our party, and we all thought the the breakfast menu was skewed more towards the Asian market, as the European choice was very limited and not in line with other comparable hotels that we have stayed in.
Also of note, is that there is no free Wifi within the hotel. If you want Wifi, then you have to pay for it. A hotel of this calibre I would have thought, should be offering complimentary Wifi, in line with their competitors.
Would I stay here again, probably not. I'd look for a hotel that better suited my needs with regards to breakfast and Wifi and something a bit closer to the CBD.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the street as you get an excellent view over the city.
