I love this classic hotel. The location is perfect. The rooms are spacious. The pool is the very best. The bellmen are great. The lobby is beautiful. The price is a bargain! Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. I also like the Thai artwork all around the hotel.

Room Tip: Get a non smoking floor room if you are a non smoker.

I expected a bit more of the President Solitaire from checking it out here before I arrived, but I suppose for the price it was not a bad value; that said, you can stay in a really nice hotel in Bangkok for a reasonable amount of dough, and I think that is a better option.

Arriving at the Skytrain Station Nana you follow the signs to Soi 11 exit and end up on Sukhumvit with hawkers selling dodgy items (much of which not mentionable in polite company), take a left on Soi 11 and try to get down the street with occasional sidewalks, food vendors everywhere, horrible scary traffic, and what appears to be raw sewage...you pass a few President Hotels but none are the Solitaire, then you reach the end of the street and are a bit confused as to where your hotel is. Track back to another President (they are all the same company) and they'll inform you you have to take a right at the T and there is the President Solitaire on the next corner (go left for the entrance or you end up in the spa).

Staff is quite friendly, rooms are generously sized, but all is a bit run down and confusing...instead of having light switches they have digital buttons, however they have been so thoroughly used and abused that the text has worn off, and in general it all just gives the impression that they don't care or bother to keep the place up.

Down closer to Siam there are lots of nice places all easily accessible from the SkyTrain and the above street walkway without having to go down and wade through the madness; certainly a much more pleasant overall experience and you can still go down to the madness around the Solitaire if you choose.

This hotel is in a convenient place and is in one of the busiest but coolest coolest area surround by street food people and lots of cloths selling, etc on the street. it is also about a 5-10 minute walk to the sky train (at nana train station), which you can catch to go to main town Siam paragon, which has amazing shops, It is expensive there as everything is genuine, but everything is so beautiful and its a HUGE PLACE TOO. If that's not what you are looking for, then just across the road there is another HUGE plaza called MBK. Also lots of things to buy, great food, and is a lot more cheaper too. Totally recommend that one.

anyway Presidential Hotel, is sooo cool. I recommend maybe one of the rooms higher, as you can see all the beautiful building lights at night. The Rooms are very spacious which is super cool on my list and it has air-conditioning The Staff that work there are so pleasant and helpful all the time. They Have a spa room which unfortunately did not get a chance to see and enjoy as so much to do in Bangkok. Depending how you booked the accommodation, sometimes u have the option of breakfast too. That is super yum, a buffet full of variety of cooked food and pastry stuff, and fresh fruit for desert. Every day there is different kind of cooked food, which is awesome. The swimming pool is amazing too. which you will definitely need after a day out, as Thailand is a very hot and humid place. They even have a tuk tuk service running I think every half hour, which will take you to certain places close by for example to nana train station.

I would totally Recommend President Solitaire to anyone and everyone. :)
When I go back to Bangkok, I know where I will be staying :)

I stayed two months at President Solitaire in January and February 2014. The President Solitaire is just about as fine as a hotel can be. In my room there was a king-size bed, extremely comfortable with a thick quilt. I adjusted the cooling with air flow control. There is a full-size refrigerator/freezer, two hot plates and a microwave. There are coffee and tea supplies. There is a deep tub and a separate shower, Wi-fi is included. The in-room safe is the size of a carry-on bag. The large flat-screen TV has scores of international channels.
I would like to say thank you to friendly staff especially housekeeper to done well job on cleenliness to my room and bed.

Room Tip: Higher floors, Corner suites are large and sunny

I was expecting a little bit more "up to date" room, amenities and furnishings wise. It's quite old and not as modern as it appears on the web site photos. Be aware that there are a number of "President" named properties on this soi.

The President Solitaire is a comfortable hotel with big, comfortable rooms. The rooms have wonderful wood floors, large bathrooms, comfortable big beds, and large flat screen TVs. It is just off all the noise and traffic of Sukhumvit soi 11, and because it is not on soi 11, it is very quiet at night. I never had a problem sleeping. It is also good to be near soi 11 because there are many restaurants and bars you can frequent if should want to. There is a free shuttle service to the Nana skytrain stop, so you can get around the city easily and quickly. It's a good hotel for families or single people. The breakfasts, although not great, are fine with more than enough to eat and drink. The staff is helpful and polite, and there is a tour service right in the hotel to arrange day trips or more. The rooms are kept clean by a good, friendly cleaning staff. I would certainly stay there again on my trips to Bangkok.

Room Tip: The higher the rooms, the better the view.
