“Sadly what I liked most was the lobby”
Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

I stayed a night at Baiyoke Suites as the next morning I was transiting to another province. Previously I stayed in Baiyoke Sky and was a vast in difference. When the elevator doors opened on the 47th, we were disappointed with the narrow corridors and aged interior. The room wasn't well maintained too, sheets and the bathtubs were stained. Room however is spacious and allowed a beautiful view of the city skyline. Balcony access was not recommended as there was a sign advising guest not to enter.

Sad to say what I liked most was the minimalistic lobby which looked freshly renovated. I hope the management will take concerted efforts to spruce up the rest of the hotel like they did to the former.

You don't need to go far from the hotel if you're looking for great bargains on clothes and accessories. At the ground floor of Baiyoke Suite Hotel, you'll find some of the cheapest shirts (for both men and women, around 150 to 200 baht), jeans (for men and women) and accessories (mostly women) you'll ever find in Bangkok - just don't forget to haggle (they'll take 10-15% off, in general). The lobby of the hotel is impressive with its nice ambience and high ceiling, so it was disappointing to see how gloomy and old the rooms looked (we were booked at the Executive Suite). The shower is clean but its design and fixtures were rather outdated - say NO to using the tub for a bubble bath. There were a couple of leaks from the sink but nothing that caused any flooding. Shampoo and liquid bath soap were in dispensers that were less than a quarter full and watered down. The Executive Suite had a receiving area with a table for 2, a long sofa and a recliner - I didn't sit on any of them cause they seemed old. The bed was comfortable, sheets clean and you get 1 pillow - no extras. I need to warn you about the complimentary water bottles - on Day 1 it's free, and there's a note that says everything on the table is free (coffee in sachet, creamer, sugar and Lipton tea), but on Day 2, you need to pay for the water. A bottle of water was about 18 baht, so it still wasn't bad, but the hotel staff should have clarified that cause in most hotels I've stayed in, complimentary water on Day 1 is replenished and stays complimentary until the end of your stay. The rooms don't offer much of a view because of the dark and suspicious (because they looked old) curtains. There's a balcony, but the glass door is locked shut so you can't use it. Overall, this is a budget hotel that is walking distance to Siam Paragon, Siam Center, MBK and to the night market. So if you don't feel like you'll be spending a lot of time inside your room (either because you'll be shopping or touring the city), it's not a bad hotel. I wouldn't consider it a business hotel because Internet wasn't free - I remember it to be more expensive than what I would have paid back home.

The hotel is situated at a very convenient location. We took the train from the airport to hotel and just walked from station to the hotel. Booking was done for 2 adults but we took our 8 years and 11 years old children and only paid for extra breakfast 130bats. The room is big enough to all 4 of us so no need of a extra bed. Food price at hotel coffee shop is reasonable in par with outside restaurants. Took a day trip to Pataya and tiger park from hotel tour guide and our requirements were covered satisfactorily. The living room a.c. was excellent but bedroom a.c. a bit low. I would choose the same hotel for my next Bangkok visit.

The hotel is one of the tallest in Bangkok just next to Baiyoke Sky Hotel.
Its great to wake up every morning and see the clouds and skyline.
The roof top retaurant on 43rd floor has glass walls overlooking the city, and if you come outside you will enjoy the breeze. A bit scary for people afraid of heights.
Breakfast is wonderful and enjoyable. Location is great for shopping and eating.
Indian retaurant just round the left corner and roadside shops are plenty.
McDonald is also there a little away, say 2 mins walks.
We have stayed the two times. Thought over the years the rooms are showing signs of wear and tear and the hotel too.

The enterance is just a small door in the middle shopping mall, so you need to transfer to the main lobby. Lobby was nice, modern design with bright atmosphere..

The reception was rude, never smile like she had a big problem in their life :) we waiting for a momment until a room ready, not to long, and we can check in at 1 p.m. not bad.

We booked 3 rooms, and we got all in the same level. The room is quite big, the living room is bigger than the bedroom, a bit wasting space..

Furniture is old, i think so old, its very different with the lobby impression.. overall is just ok although a bit dirty in everything 9bathroom, livingroom, and the carpet.

Wifi is available with charge, they charge 200 baht for 1 hour..

Breakfast was good, located on the top floor of the building (43th level, you can see Bangkok view in the morning. Food option is quite good, but same-same with the room, the furniture is old.

Swimming pool is available at 11 th floor but so small versa the gym.

The best part of this hotel is the location for the shoppers. Walking distance with Platinum Mall and pratunam area, siam, central world mall and in front of Baiyoke Sky the Bangkok tallest building.

So, only if you want going to shopping at pratunam and platinum mall you may choose this hotel. Me? no more :)

Wasn't my choice to stay here. Travelled with three families who thought booking three rooms was enough and initially happy with the price. Only two people were allowed in each room and everyone in excess was charged 600 baht a night, far more expensive than the original choice of President Park's 2-bedroom suites x 2 suites. Waited for 3 hours for an extra bed as only one housekeeper was on duty one night. Terrible entrance, have to go down a flight of stairs. Lobby was on another floor, being renovated, looks a little bit okay. Rooms are old, but with a big living room area, but the furniture was so-so. No parking infront so our rented van for 8 days had difficulty picking us up. It's right smack in the middle of a bargain shopping area so streets are narrow. No in-house doctor.
