The hotel was a very peaceful and relaxing place to come back to after a day in the city. Nice rooms and good breakfast in beautiful surroundings by the pool. We liked it very much and will stay there next time we pass Bangkok.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in February. Getting from the airport was nto an issue, though do expect to spend about 40-50 minutes and ca. 400 Baht. I would advise to print out the driving directions from either mapquest or any other source, translate them via translate google com and give the directions to a taxi driver. A few times when we took taxis to the hotel, the drivers seemed to be perplexed with either the last few minutes of driving or the general location of the hotel.

The room was nice, clean, the bathroom was spacios. The view from the windows was the wall of the next building. But it was not a big issue since we used the room for sleeping only!

The breakfast was good. If possible, ask for the breakfast vouchers on the 8th floow - a less crowded area, nice view and close to the swimming pool. During the evening, if one feels peckish, there are plenty of stands with authentic Thai food.

Getting to other places was not an issue. To save money, I would not recommend getting a taxi directly from the hotel. If you leave the hotel and cross the steet and then go through a small side street, you end up on one of the main roads where taxis actually use meters.

Overall, the hotel leaves up to the expectations. Nothing like a 5-star stay, but a decent 3.5-4 stars in European rating.

The hotel was good overall. The staff was nice and friendly. The rooms were clean and good size. The breakfast was very nice with good variety of items. Some staff such as the conceirge were helpful. Its always a good tip in asking them before hand what will be the price fo any taxi or tuk-tuk journey. The location was central, it was walking distance to the Pratunam market and the Platinum mall and also a short tuk tuk ride away to MBK.

Book the Golden Palace tour at the airport for only $15/£10 for two people. This includes transfers, english speaking tour guide and visit to the grand palace, Emerald Buddha and old city sight seeing. I think it was a very good price.
Have a nice and cheap Thai massage at Magic Relax just walking distance to the hotel 450bht for two people. Just google and you will be able to locate the website.

Dont go to the Hotel Tom Yum opp hotel, the food really sucked! It was set menu of 350bht each but it was not at all the worth it.

Tuk Tuk ride is a must in Bangkok. Make sure you don't miss it.

Nice cheap seafood restaurant near the hotel was Kualey sea food restaurant

I should have known something was up when the guy assigning taxis at the airport pronounced the hotel as the "RAMA" da--the place of RAMA. This has pretty much become an Indian hotel. Not that there;s anything wrong with that, but you should at least know you will be swamped by large Indian families and tour groups in your effort to negotiate the breakfast buffet. It is also important to point out that it isn't really owned by Ramada Inn--a certificate at the desk states clearly that it is licensed to Ramada Inn. A small detail but significant. It is also important to state that this place is in a bad part of town. The atmosphere here is creepy. Stepping ouside to take a smoke at midnight it wasn't the flies so much as the touts trying to hook you up with a woman that swarmed all over you. And icabs would not go there when during midday...said it was too crowded. The final nail in the coffin for us was that they give you a check in coupon for a "free drink.": But it turns out not only do you not get to choose what the drink is, but the drink itself is an asian version of a shirley temple. On the bright side, the staff was good

Stayed here for two nights during a stopover in Bangkok.
The hotel was very helpful with transportation to and from the airport, though it was more expencive than a regular taxi.
The hotel itself was okay. The rooms were a bit tired, but clean. I found it a bit strange that it was easier to find the pricelist for damaging the room, than the minibar pricelist...
The bathroom was fantastic! Huge bathroom with both a big shower and tub, and even a telephone(!)
Breakfast was great, with a lot of choices. The waffles were fantastic :)
The pool area was also good, a nice place to relax after a days sightseeing and shopping.

The hotel is a bit to far away from the attractions of Bangkok in my opinion, and the nearest skytrain station is quite a walk away. This will change in the near future, as a new line with a station nearby will open soon.
When leaving the hotel for shopping etc ,I actually felt hasseled by the crew in the taxi stand outside the hotel. They acted just like the taxidrivers who try to rip you off. My tip is to walk a few minutes from the hotel, and stop a taxi in the street. The taxis outside the hotel will just try to rip you off.

Check out of the hotel was very slow, and we were presented a bill for our the taxiride to the hotel from the airport, which we had allready payed for. We didn't have to pay for it, but it was still a bit dissapointing.

The hotel itself was allright, but I would choose another hotel for my next trip to Bangkok.
