I should have known something was up when the guy assigning taxis at the airport pronounced the hotel as the "RAMA" da--the place of RAMA. This has pretty much become an Indian hotel. Not that there;s anything wrong with that, but you should at least know you will be swamped by large Indian families and tour groups in your effort to negotiate the breakfast buffet. It is also important to point out that it isn't really owned by Ramada Inn--a certificate at the desk states clearly that it is licensed to Ramada Inn. A small detail but significant. It is also important to state that this place is in a bad part of town. The atmosphere here is creepy. Stepping ouside to take a smoke at midnight it wasn't the flies so much as the touts trying to hook you up with a woman that swarmed all over you. And icabs would not go there when during midday...said it was too crowded. The final nail in the coffin for us was that they give you a check in coupon for a "free drink.": But it turns out not only do you not get to choose what the drink is, but the drink itself is an asian version of a shirley temple. On the bright side, the staff was good

Stayed here for two nights during a stopover in Bangkok.
The hotel was very helpful with transportation to and from the airport, though it was more expencive than a regular taxi.
The hotel itself was okay. The rooms were a bit tired, but clean. I found it a bit strange that it was easier to find the pricelist for damaging the room, than the minibar pricelist...
The bathroom was fantastic! Huge bathroom with both a big shower and tub, and even a telephone(!)
Breakfast was great, with a lot of choices. The waffles were fantastic :)
The pool area was also good, a nice place to relax after a days sightseeing and shopping.

The hotel is a bit to far away from the attractions of Bangkok in my opinion, and the nearest skytrain station is quite a walk away. This will change in the near future, as a new line with a station nearby will open soon.
When leaving the hotel for shopping etc ,I actually felt hasseled by the crew in the taxi stand outside the hotel. They acted just like the taxidrivers who try to rip you off. My tip is to walk a few minutes from the hotel, and stop a taxi in the street. The taxis outside the hotel will just try to rip you off.

Check out of the hotel was very slow, and we were presented a bill for our the taxiride to the hotel from the airport, which we had allready payed for. We didn't have to pay for it, but it was still a bit dissapointing.

The hotel itself was allright, but I would choose another hotel for my next trip to Bangkok.

We stayed here for one wk in march, on the 17th floor. The room was lovely with a great bathroom with seperate shower. We had a delux room, which had slippers and bath robe. The bed and pillows were a bit hard, but i think thats the norm in thailand. Breakfast was ok with enough to fill you up.
Hotel was in a good place, but then we do like walking. Cabs are very cheep so no problem there.
The swimming pool is small but never busy, we loved it best after sunset. We ate in the resturant one night, which was very nice nice, but the food outside is so very nice and cheaper.
If you need a cab just go the corner its so much better value. Good tip is to haggle a cab for the day.

We spent 13 days at the Ramada D'ma (it used to be called the D'MA Pavillion) Having read the reviews we expected to have a view from the window of a blank wall, and I can understand that some rooms will have this - but we were upgraded without asking, and had a wonderful view of the city from the 17th floor. We had a huge bathroom with a walk in shower AND a bath. 2 bottles of water were provided daily free of charge. The rooms are clean and quiet. The swimming pool is on the eighth floor and is also very clean. The staff are very friendly. Your room card also operates the lift which ensures that no undesirables can get further than reception, and only guests will use the pool. The breakfast was good and a very large choice. We had some snacks at the hotel and all were good. You had to get taxis to most attractions but they were freely available outside the hotel although watch out for them trying to take you to their attractions and their suit/clothes fitters etc. The hotel is walking distance from the Baiyoke tower hotel which is well worth a visit to the top to see the city, and is amongst shops and near the Pratanum shopping centre. We paid approximately £34 per night for bed and breakfast and it was definitely worth the money. We organised several trips from the hotel which were also good - we were the only ones on one evening trip - and they still ran it! I would definitely go back there, and recommend it, but be prepared for a view of a blank wall from your bedroom.

We stayed here at the end of our trip to Thailand. Booked through expedia and got a great rate. The hotel also upgraded us to a bigger room as we were staying for 4 nights.

We thought the location was good. It was a bit hard to find to begin with as there is another hotel with Ramada in its name that the taxi driver we had took us to first - and he had to ask a few people where to find this one. It turned out Ramada D'ma had been named something else and changed its name!

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pool was very refreshing. Hotel also had free internet and Wifi access. Food was ok - not superb but definitely edible.

You could walk to markets etc. But we found it very hot so tended to take taxis - which were pretty cheap. We found that some taxi stands had a rule that to pick up from there they had to turn there meter on - otherwise they couldn't use that taxi stand - deinitely recommended to use these taxis!
