Have stayed here several times in the past and was pleased with the deluxe room sizes and overall location although for different reasons the distances to the pool or metro can be challenging. This trip however (23 December to 2 January 13) has been a great disappointment. Management has obviously decided for whatever reason to reduce staff and the level and quality of service. I would say however that all permanent staff did their best to meet our needs in a friendly manner. For breakfast all guests are now being crammed into the lounge previously reserved for deluxe room guests and above. It is clearly too small for this purpose which led to people queuing outside to the lifts or simply standing eating at tables. It was also obvious that temp staff with no experience were being used to try and relieve pressures but this did not disguise a very unpleasant experience for both staff and guests. Additional minor benefits such as fruit bowls, cocktails, beers and canapes for executive club have also been eroded or severely restricted. Requests for management to respond to my complaints about standards and their willingness to take money for advertised services they were not providing have so far gone unheeded - yet another example of managerial divorce from customer service in a competitive market. Sadly, my patronage may have come to an end!

We checked in President Park hotel towards the end of December 2012 after seeing online pictures and comments from travellers.
What you see on the pictures is not what you get ....
Check in is very slow. Rooms are outdated and moldy. There is a terrible smell of humidity in the room. The TV was missing from our room. The pool is in the building next door so you have to go through that building's parking lot to get to the pool.
We cancelled our reservation after seeing the room and they still charged us for 1 night. In less you get a room for very cheap, spend your money elsewhere!

After 15 years we ventured back to stay at this hotel. The room was great and the value for money was exceptional. We love this area because it is a little way out of the rat race and you get to see and experience a bit more of the Thai way of life.

1. The Internet did not work
2. The TV did not work
3. The room was dank and smelled musty
4. The furnishings were sparse and old
5. The staff was curt adn to the point, unlike the people of Bangkok who are very nice
Not worth the $70 I paid for a single night.

Room tip: Go to Hotel Davis across the street
