Stayed for 4 days in Oct 2011. Very tourist hotel catering to many China guests while we were there. The check-in was quick and the manager explained the charges and breakfast arrangement. The room we were in was rather large and easily managed a spare bed. Housekeeping was good and the small swimming pool was a good place to relax thou not for swimming. The jacuzi was not on thou. The massage service next to the pool was good and suggests you book 2 hours for a relaxing session if you body is totally tired from shopping.
We were however disappointed with the breakfast service as the cafe manager did not believe that we had paid for 2 adults and 2 kids as indicated in their daily breakfast guest list insisting we pay before allowing the kids in. While the manager eventually apologised after checking with the front desk, it happened again on 2 more mornings. Breakfast had a reasonable spread, if you are rushing.
Local hawker food is just 15 mins walk from the hotel or only 30 Bahts by tutkuk. Try the coconut milk-jam dip with fresh bread, Thai fondue style - the lady speaks English. Ordering was easy as we pointed to dishes while they were being prepared. The hawkers were very obliging and even ordered food from other stalls for us to try.
Transportation was not a big issue as we had a tour van and the hotel's surrounding was not affected by the flood in Bangkok. Reasonable priced and suitable if you are in a tour group.
