Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel Bangkok
Ranked #334 of 887 Hotels in Bangkok

This hotel was a surprise. Needed something cheap and cheerful for two nights but the hotel turned to be more than that. The name at the booking was Golden Tulip but the confirmation was for Annantara, this was somewhat confusing. The views from the room at night were stunning. The hotel has about 40 floors. The bed was comfortable and the whole room and bathroom were very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good, with huge selection of sweet and savoury dishes plus good selection of fruit. The pool is located outside on the second floor and is great for chilling out. The downside is the location. It is about 52km from the airport but once you are in the city you are located in some kind of a business district and there isn't much you can do or see around but the it is not that far from the major attractions that you can reach by taxi (very cheap) or even by the train. The hotel has regular shuttle bus, every hour, that take you to the station. Even if you miss the shuttle the station is only 10 minutes walking.

This is an excellent hotel with nice big rooms, great breakfast, and friendly staff. It is right next to the expressway so very quick access to airport. Also, just next Prahram 9 hospital so anyone looking for a body checkup will find this very convenient. 15 mins walk to new Central shopping mall and underground. Hotel provides shuttle bus to various parts of town, incl weekend market on sat and sun mornings. Good value for money if you don't mind being away from the Silom or Sukhumvit areas.

I stayed here for a couple of days. Found the hotel is quite away from the city center. The hotel staff don't really speak good English and I found it hard to communicate with them. Check in was smooth. The room is completely dated and old. But it is clean and spacious though.

There are other better hotels in the city center with newer rooms. I guess it wasn't a bad stay but I would try to look for other hotels when I come to Bangkok next time.

Nice hotel, nice staff, good meal, nice and spacious room. Only one inconvenience, it is a little bit too far from the city center.

I attended a symposiumin Bangkok and was put up in this hotel. I arrived after midnite, and the lobby was unnervingly dark. Check in was smooth. The room was clean and spacious, but a bit dated. The breakfast spread was just okay. Overall a decent stay

Happened to stay here for two nights during last year. The first thing which impresses you the most is the lobby lounge. There is a pub next to the reception where in we spent an hour relaxing after touring the city. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. There is a safe deposit locker in the room as well. The food was delicious and a special mention of the continental breakfast served at the restaurant attached to the lobby. On the whole it was a perfect stay and everything was beyond our expectations.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the poolside.

The hotel was nice, food great and staff very courteous and helpful. I stayed with my family for a vacation trip to Thailand. The stay was in the last leg of our trip. Specially the food was good and we could also have some Indian vegetarian specialties. Nice place to stay, we were there on Christmas time and had a great time.
