“Great Hotel for Bangkok Stay”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

We stayed here for the few days we were in Bangkok and it was excellent. Good location, accessible by Skytrain & MTS as well as a reasonable cab ride back to the airport (book through the hotel though, not from the street). Rooms were spacious and clean with good views across the city (we were 14th floor of 25). We only ate the breakfast but the buffet was excellent, so much choice & very tasty. There are a couple of other restaurants but we chose to go to the markets / other places we'd heard about (Cabbages & Condoms walking distance, Night Market 2 stops down etc). The staff were really friendly and helpful and the pool was a great way to cool off after a day seeing the sights! There are also plenty of shops nearby as well as very reasonably priced tailors and Thai massage places - all in a great spot!

Room Tip: Higher floors offer great views across the city

Nice hotel in ex-pat area. Rooms are small, but nicely appointed. Restaurants are Indian and Mexican which were not our favorite. Bar downstairs is nice but not much character. Everyone in the hotel was very gracious.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us here at the Rembrandt Hotel during your recent trip to Bangkok and for taking the time to post your feedback. In addition to our award winning Mexican and Indian, we have Italian, Thai, and all day dining restaurants giving our guests more options than most other hotels. Our Lobby Bar adds character by not only having wonderful associates, but nightly live jazz as well. Thanks again for your comments.

We stayed at the Rembrant Hotel for 9 nights over the New Year break and would definitely recommend this hotel. The room was comfortable and whilst staying there we enjoyed dining at all the restaurants the hotel has to offer. The highlight was definitely the Indian Restaurant - the views are amazing but we also had great meals at the Mexican (twice) and the Italian. We also enjoyed great Thai meals at the restaurant across the road. The hotels service is great just make sure you deal with the lady at the Tour Desk she is so helpful.
Our final highlight was arranging the limousine service for our trip to Hua Hin. What a fantastic service and price - our daughter (17years) was delighted that the limo had WIFI - it certainly made the journey very fast for her.
The hotel is very well situated and we found it very easy to get around. Very good value.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 10th floor and were satisfied with our room.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel recently during our brief trip to Bangkok. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly and led to the Towers floor for check in. We were offered a welcome drink while the check in process was handled quickly and competently. Our room was spacious and furnished with all the amenities and a welcome fruit basket. My requests to the reception desk for information on certain restaurant were handled quickly.
My wife and I joined four other friends for complimentary drinks and snacks in the Towers lounge. There was a good selection of soft drinks, juices, beers and wine along with an assortment of finger foods. A delightful way to enjoy the interval before dinner.
Our checkout next day was equally prompt. The buffet breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of foods to suit every taste. The omlette station offered eggs to order. The restaurant is clean, airy and served well by a host of servers. I wish we had more time to stay at this hotel. We were unable to take advantage of the many factilities offered by the hotel, because of our brief stay.
It remains a hotel of choice for me, any time I visit Bangkok in future. Althogh the rooms are well furnished, the hotel management needs to plan an upgrade of some of the the furnishings (carpets and furniture) in the near future.

This hotel is not exceptional but neither is it terrible. On the plus side the location is excellent ! Very near the Sky Train station (and intersection with the Metro). The neighbourhood is nice and you really see the local life especially with all the hawkers nearby. The room we had was also a good size for a deluxe double room. The service is okay so nothing to write home about. When we arrived we had to ask so many members of staff where we could grab a snack, only to be pointed to the general restaurant which served average food! We discovered the next day that snacks are served all day by the pool with better variety and cheaper prices. On the negative side the rooms are a bit dated and in my opinion for a 4 star plus hotel, breakfast just okay. If you asked for help you got it but not always with clarity!

My partner and I stayed at the Rembrandt Hotel for 4 nights over Christmas 2013 before traveling on to Phuket. On arriving the hotel staff were all very courteous and greeted you with a big smile. We were promptly shown up to our room and our first impression was the size of the room which was huge with plenty of storage space, a large flat screen TV, chairs, and even a desk. The large, it must have been king size double bed was equally big and very comfortable. Every nights sleep was great! The room had an on suite marble bathroom which was no less impressive with a large bath and powerful shower. Considering we were in the heart of Bangkok there was absolutely no noise when in the room at all, total silence in fact. However, once out walking along the corridors to the lift you hear the background noise of bird song which was different!
The hotel has a gym and a decent sized swimming pool which is outside on the 4th floor, swimming in that whilst looking up at the surrounding sky scrappers was a novel experience!

The choice at breakfast was huge. It's a buffet style which attempts to cater for all tastes and so as well as European things like eggs and croissants there was tables of rice dishes, fish and curry. You think at first that's a bit odd and then you realise your sat at breakfast with people from India, Japan, Australia, Sweden, people from all over the world!

A big tip when staying at this hotel is to take one of their cards with you as on several occasions out in the city we tried to call a taxi back to the hotel and literally five drivers had never heard of the hotel and hence one night we ended up walking back!
Another tip is that outside the hotel is a taxi rank who on Christmas day offered to take us to the Royal Palace and the Floating Market for a bargain 800 baht. What they don't tell you is that the floating market is an hour and half's drive out from the city and when you finally get there, they try to sting you for 4,000 baht each to be taken around on a small boat. We refused to pay and asked to be taken back to the Royal Palace when the price after much haggling came down to 500 baht each. The Floating Market in my opinion isn't worth the long drive and is a big tourist rip off. In the end we never got to see the Royal Palace which was what we originally set out to see as it closes at 3.30 and so was closed by the time we had driven back to Bangkok which took over two and a half hours due to the horrendous traffic jams! Be warned!

All in all though we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bangkok and our stay at the Rembrandt and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
