“'Honeymoon accommodation luxury found in a Bangkok hotel'”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

Booked through the fantastic staff at the Flight Centre in Cambridge. We stayed at The Sokosol (formerly Siam City) from 7-10 Aug 12. From the moment we arrived we could not have asked for a more ideal city hotel location to spend the most important holiday of our lives at. The hotel staff were truly amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble to attend to if asked and always done with a smile and please and thank you attitude. We we're given an upgrade due to us being on honeymoon. In the room was a cake and flowers for my wife. The breakfast spread daily was fantastic and catered for every international taste and menu choice, even good English breakfast tea and low fat milk!

We recommend taking the sky train from the airport to Paya Thai that is just round the corner from the hotel, circa £1 per person each way.

We recommend doing the Grand Palace Tour; Floating Markets Tour and the Bridge over the River Kwai and Tiger Temple Tour that were all booked through the Flight Centre staff in Cambridge. All trips were very reasonably priced and the content was amazing - especially the last one where we hand-fed and played with tigers.......WOW

In short, when we are in Bangkok again we will be staying at this hotel - 5 star without the price!

Room Tip: Spend the extra and go for a suite - you will not regret it!

Booked this hotel through Zuji Secret Room Program. After staying here for two nights I will recommend this hotel to my friends even if there is no such promotion.

The staff are helpful, who help us to take photos with patience and technique. The room is big and new. The location is good that just takes 3 minutes walk to the Phaya Thai BTS station (two stations away from Siam)

one minor thing, the AC seems out of order that makes our room a little bit cold.

This hotel is just renewed and Recommended!

After two days travelling was lovely to get a bit of luxury, hotel is very clean modern and has good facilities, nice pool and is in a good location. Its rights beside the sky train which is handy to get around, it was nice to stay down town away from the back packer scene on KS Rd. The hotel where helpful on arrival when we where the victim of a fast taxi meter from the airport. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Just arrived and let you know that the hotel offers a free shuttle from phaya thai station to the hotel every sharp hour. We arrived with 2 kids and saw the poster for it. Brilliant as the road is very busy.

The Sukosol is located next to Phayathai railway station and is an ideal point if you plan to go shopping at Siam Square. The hotel is comfortable with a great breakfast buffet and choice of restaurants though we chose to eat outside the hotel.

Staff were excellent with special mention of Mr Chafrat - a young doorman who was exceptionally helpful and as an accommodation professional myself, I know Chafrat will go places in the industry (Sukosol management take notice and mentor him).

SOmthing that is often overlooked in reviews - I had the best sleep at Sukosol - there curtains darkened the room - it was wonderful!!!

If you've not been to Bangkok before one simple hint - use the railway when you can.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of my trip to Thailand.

The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming

My friend and I were shocked at how beautiful it was, sadly on the first morning we were sleeping so well that we missed breakfast, but found the following day that the breakfast selection and quality was fantastic.

We spent a lot of time in the pool, which was extremely quiet, but handily open til 10pm (I think) so a cooling swim after seeing the sights of Bangkok was perfect.

Perfect hotel for a weekend. Very nice and clean. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms are clean but sometimes there where no hot water in the shower (which is a minor problem in a hot Bangkok). Pool is very nice even if the sun might disappear a few hours during midday if you stay here on the winter half-year.

Best location in Bangkok if you want to be close to the airport train, very close to sky train as well.

I can really recommend this hotel.
