“Excellent hotel with very helpful staff, ideal location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

I have stayed at the Furama Xclusive before, so know the location of this hotel which is so easy to get to from the airport - You exit the MRT at Chong Nonsi and walk a couple of hundred yards.

I have booked a superior room at £79 for 3 nights over New Year !! The hotel put me in an enormous room on the 12th Floor (rooms up to 19th floor, swimming pool on the 20th) on the front of the hotel with a balcony. It lookd down the Silom Road towards the river. I had another triangular window area I could stand in looking up the silom Road. The room was excellent. The bathroom was a little small and outdated, but how long do you spend in a bathroom. This was brilliant value and extremely comfortable.

The location is ideal. An easy 15 minute walk up the Silom Road takes you to Patpong and the night Fake market. It is 5 minutes from the Chong Nonsi station where you can go south to pick up the station on the river - 10 minutes ? - to Chao Phraya river boats to access the tourist sites and the Grand Palace.

When using the river boats, take care. many of the tourists got confused and purchased the tourist ticket for 150 baht. The Tourist Boat runs the same route as the ordinary orange flag boats at 15 baht a journey ! The Tourist Boat goes every 30 minutes, the Orange flag boats every 20 minutes. The tourist boats stop at 4.30 p.m. and people were still buying 150 baht tickets at 3 p.m. !!! There and back to the Grand Palace / Wat Po, Wat Arun on the orange flag boats is 30 baht - you need to make 11 riverboat journeys in a day to make the Tourist ticket worth while. Also, you don't get the fun and panick of travelling with everyone else.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good. If breakfast is not included in your room rate it costs 480 baht for a very...

The Furama is quite well located, not far from the BTS and within walking distance of some nice restaurants and a few shops. The corridors leading to our room was less than enticing. Our room was big but definitely needs refurbishing. The bed was big but too hard, the pillows weren't comfortable and the bathroom was too basic for a hotel of this price in BKK. The gym has fairly OK equipment although 1/2 weren't working and the A/C didn't work so the room was rather smelly. The pool area is very nice though, located on the 20th floor of the building. The breakfast buffet was quite good though. Overall, our stay was ok and the staff was friendly but the hotel needs an upgrade or to lower its price.

We had an amazing stay at Furama!! During our check in , they upgraded our rooms and gave us Executive Suites instead which had amazing view and the bathroom was awesome. The morning breakfast was lovely. We couldn't ask for more.

Stayed 12 nights in an Executive Club Room which was very comfortable. The duvet on the bed was heavy and the cover velcro was old, coming open. The room was cleaned daily, bathroom was nice. My complaint is no WiFi on the 19th floor and it didn't look it was going to be fixed anytime soon. I had to go to the lobby or the Club Lounge for internet which was inconvenient. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. Some mornings the fresh fruit was frozen which I didn't understand. The selection of breakfast items didn't change and was got old after several days. The location and friendly staff make this hotel shine, the bed linens need to be updated and get the WiFi fixed.

Good location and lovely breakfast. The rooms are enormous but the beds are really like sleeping on concrete. The bathrooms are old and rusty.the last guests used shower gel was still in shower . This hotel is in desperate need of an up grade.

The hotel is convenient enough- approximately a ten minute walk from the closest sky train station (which is still an uncomfortable walk under the thailand sun). The staff are polite enough and they help you hail moving taxis and make sure you don't get ripped off. The room itself, while exceptionally spacious, is disappointing for a "four star" hotel. The room appears very confused- partly refurbished but the curtains and bathrooms are VERY old. The room gives off a dated, motel like vibe. The roof top bar is old and tiny and looks nothing like the photos.

Conclusion: the location is convenient but i would not stay there again.

The hotel is located on the very popular silom road, 5minute walk to the sky train and a 10minute walk to the popular patpong night market.
I upgraded to a deluxe room and it was beautifully furnished, constant hot water, reliable air-con, equipped with a ironing board/iron, safe deposit box, writing desk, free daily tea and coffee and a minibar plus free wifi throughout the hotel.
The rooftop swimming pool was so nice and the food there was very good.
The staff were truly friendly, polite and courtueous at all times.
I would recommend this hotel and i will be staying here on my return to Bangkok.
Thank you furama team !!!
