Well first off, about an hour taxi from airport just under 400 baht. Nice big rooms, although shower curtain could do with being replaced :P breakfast is amazing if you can get it for that little bit more I highly recommend it! Very good location if you don't want to be completly in the heart off all the backpacker ness! Travel tips: bus actually pretty easy to use, cross over and go right for about 1 minute stick you're hand out and jump on (providing you want that one :P) 6baht standard bus fee stay on until you're stop no risk of getting ripped off and nice views of the city I actually enjoyed my bus rides!sky train: go right and then right again at huge crossing takes less than 5 minutes (also just before you go up to the train there is a good place to eat for very 95baht for dinner!) And finally the metro: go right out the hotel walk over that nice big crossing and carry on for about 10 minutes and you will get there! Check out the food court on the basement floor of the shopping mall (the mall with a huge mango clothes store!). And one more thing once you've gone over that big cross roads there is also a huge market the other side of the road along with gay bars, strip clubs and about 2 bars with live music depending what you're into :D enjoy you're stay :) sorry for long review!!!

i was advised that this was agood area to be not so sure. Hotel reception looked impressive, bell boys absolutely excellent. Shown a room on 8th floor awful like something out of the 70s, there was no safe and asked to move, nowadays you need a safe. We went up to another floor still the same type of room with a safe. Bed awful and hard no life in the pillows, a huge fridge in the room for what reason I dont know. Breakfast had a fairly good choice, however we didnt eat there at night, but had a couple of drinks, and communication in the restaurant area is not good, and they didnt have any tonic and I drink gin unbelievable. If you go and talk to the travel agent a couple of doors up from the hotel she gives good advice and can book trips cheaper, and advises where you dont get taken advantage of money wise. We used tuk tuks all the time great fun. Okay for a stopover but book the best rooms which have been upgraded.

This hotel is well located (15 minutes walk to Saladaeng and its night market) and has all the modern conveniences (free wifi, pool, aircon, etc.). The Deluxe room (17th floor) was nice and clean and even had a balcony. The front desk staff was OK. A special mention to the breakfast. It was a huge buffet and the quality was very good. It looks a great spot to stay while in business.

We've spent 5 nights there as a start to our trip around south - east Asia and I must say, that we were satisfied. The hotel has great localization, close to Lumphini park, BTS station and river. Breakfast was not bad, although a bit borring after few days. Just be sure to book deluxe room, price difference is not very big and the rooms are far nicer. Very good value for money.

Room Tip: book deluxe!

This hotel is 'okay', we stayed one night whilst travelling from A to B. To be honest it seemed like an upgraded Travelodge and was far to 'English' in its style for a hotel in the middle of Bangkok.
The location was good and shops, restaurants etc nearby.
Okay to be used for a stop-over but not more than one night.

After readying the reviews I was pretty scared about what I was going to find in the superior rooms.

I was pleasantly surprised, the room was huge with a double bed, and much needed aircon during the Bangkok March/April heat.

Check in was quick, and speedy.

The bathroom was also ok. With a standard bath/shower combination.

After a week I had a bit extra cash and decided to upgrade the room to a deluxe room. The hotels rate to upgrade is 500BAHT per night. Which is petty cheap.

he main different between the rooms is the bathroom. The deluxe bathroom has a giant walk in shower.

The decor in the room itself is also a bit more modern in the deluxe room.

Location is great only a few mins walk to BTS stations, and not too far to walk to the nightlife areas of patpong and silom soi 4.

Stayed at the Furama, not as close to saladaeng as wed have liked but with taxis it wasn't really a problem. Great rooftop pool but the service wasn't great. Had to call a phone ext for someone to come up to serve us. Waited more than 20 minutes for our drinks and when I complained the woman said they were on their way. Just after 10 minutes more-as we were about to leave, the drinks arrived. Worst mojito ever??? My friend enjoyed his Singapore sling but my drink was a watery mess. A lot of the ice had melted by the time it got to our table. Being at the pool and looking at the skyline made up for it.

So then there was the wifi.... Free.... Yes, good. We were so far away from a modem that we had to stand outside our door for a solid connection. It kept dropping out on us when inside the room, and was weak at best.

On our second evening I walked past and sliced a cut in my arm from the badly positioned key holder (required to keep the power on.) The cut was minor but irritating. I couldn't wear a tshirt or shirt. Just as well it was stinking hot outside.

I complained that evening about my overall experience and found the response was genuine and caring. The evening duty manager was very very good.

Breakfast was standard for big hotels, not great for vegetarians but enough food.

Housekeeping staff were always bubbly and friendly. Credit to them because my travel companion is a pig!

Would I stay again? Possibly.... Would need the little things improved.
Did I mention the great rooftop bar????
