“WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE FURAMA SILOM”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We stayed at this hotel from Oct 24, 2012 for 4 days. The reception staff was very courteous and polite. We had an immediate check in. The concierge desk was efficient. The security staff (Ankit) was helpful with our requirements. The breakfast was great, a change each day and plenty. Rooms were cleaned each day. A definite recommend to all. Night market and BTS close by. Street hawkers just 5 mins away. Plus price was cheap. In fact for couples and families who are staying at this hotel Iwould recommend they use the services of a taxi driver name Mr. Wai (Tel 080-1756516). He is a portly middle aged guy, very honest, very obliging, knows English and he will take you around the place for next to nothing and even wait until you finish your sight seeing. Do visit the tailor shop and gems market with him, because that is where he gets his commission. I used Wai for my trip and he was excellent. Only one drawback - he talks, I mean he really does so if you are a bit moody, he can get you on your nerves.

Room Tip: I guess if you speak to the reception staff with an encouraging smile they may just upgrade you. Tr...

Great service with the Thai smile that is contagious. Hotel is close to the Silom night life, but never to close. A full night sleep is always assured. A full breakfast is supplied daily. the roof top pool is very relaxing but someone manning the bar, would make your time there that more special.

Room Tip: No joiner fee applies with this hotel.. enjoy

We stayed here for 2 nights in a deluxe room for two nights, the hotel is very old looking from the outside so I was very worried...We were on the 19th floor which is the very top in a deluxe room, clearly the rooms had been renovated, was clean and comfy enough, had a balcony which was pretty small and scary considering we were on the 19th floor, bathroom and shower were good, hotel buffet was standard but for 80 bucks a night we were pretty happy, not that close to bts and siam paragon though bout 10 minutes in a tuk tuk if traffic is ok, Staff were helpful and friendly!

the deluxe room we stayed at seemed to be renovated nicely but the ceiling was very low and there were some tiring scuffs on the edges of the furnitures. the bathroom sewage smell was really bad but we didnt complain as probably theres nothing they can do. the towels were old and thin. wifi connection was extremely bad, you had to go by the door to use it. the hallway was very strange. all the windows on the hallway were frosted so couldn't see outside. maybe because there is a cemetery right below. the breakfast was ok. the location is not far but still a quite a walk to chong nansi bts. the rate we got was very good but i would rather pay a bit more and stay in a nicer place next time.

Service was unbelivable they truly went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and were very helpful in everyway. Location fantastic short walk from sky train and patpong market. Our room was one of the newly upgraded ones and was a stunning deluxe room.

The service and staff are good, a bit forced greetings but standard. The rooms frankly are disgusting. We moved from a room with more mould stains and rust around the bath than I have seen, to a room with lots of hair in the bath hole and old shower gel on the curtains. The bum spray was broken. The room was a great size but 1970's furniture reminded us of being at school.

The food was good, although limited difference each day. The hotel is set in a dark street so walking alone at night could be worrying for singles.

Overall there are much better around for this cost. There are also no non-smoking rooms, so no option there.Lastly no double glazed windows, so you can hear the traffic all night.

Room Tip: Go higher is better

I have stayed in this hotel many times, formerly the Tower Inn and Unico Grand Silom. It has now been completely refurbished to a high standard and exceeds even my expectation. The porters have been here for years and offer the same excellent service. The front desk staff were efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Air Con, Mini Bar, bath and shower room were as good as there is! A huge double bed with comfy pillows. Daily maid service ensures everythin is clean and tidy. Breakfast was worth getting up for and again very good service.
Asia remains a developing area but with regards to hospitality they are well ahead of Europe and North America. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
If going to Bangkok give the Furama Silom a try!

Room Tip: I was upgaded to deluxe from Superior and stayed on a high floor (19), this means traffic noise isn...
