Had to stay here at least once just to be able to say you had stayed in the highest hotel in Bangkok!
However I was very surprised at the lack of 'Wow Factor'!
For the first time visitor arriving and navigating to reception was at best confusing ( now I know you have to get to the 18th floor first! )
Check in streamlined and efficient.
Arriving at the room ( 4406 on 44th floor ) was underwhelming...
Rooms lacked any character - no photos / pictures on the walls - just bland.
The bathroom although spacious was basic at best - just pump soap and shampoo dispensers on the walls ( no individual bottles ) very basic amenities and lack of quality towels.
The rooms were quiet and many TV channels.
Breakfast was passable with Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai and Western choices ( many made to your order ) but seating was on long run school like tables - a little bit awkward with strangers sat right next to you.
Would I stay here again? NO, not at the premium price they charge for the overall substandard luxury expected.More
