If you going to stay at Baiyoke Sky, remember it is in very busy area. For such a big hotel everythings runs smoothly, but not the most friendliest staff. We stayed there 9-18 April 2013 and because it is longer than your average 2 days the staff warmed-up to us. It was in the Thai New year time and the hotel got into the vibe with decorations etc The tour company in the lobby (girls with the blue golf shirts) was excellent in helping us to book tours and general information about Bangkok. Housekeeping was great and cleaned our room even if we did not asked. The swimming pool area was in need of upgrade, but I was told that is going to happen soon. The room was big and spacious with nice bathroom. The decor looked a bit outdated/rundown but it was need and clean. View are the best in Bangkok!

Trip - 28 Apr 13 - 1st May 13

The only thing that can be praised about this hotel is it's view from above.
Other than that... Nothing!!

Went there with my mom and decided to get the superior suite at sky zone.
we are quite excited about this more expensive hotel as this is the first time we stayed there out of our many trips into Bangkok.

1st. The Lobby - The warehouse like feel to the lobby. it's at level 18 and with massive amount of people jostling to get to the lift! When you reach level 18, you need to change to another set of lifts ( to wait ) before you can go to your hotel. Even though it's normal for most high-rise building to have this. The amount of jostling involved is utmost irritating! Especially when ALL visitors to this place uses the pathetic 3-4 lifts to the lobby.

2nd. Check in - seeing that we are taking the more expensive room, no early check-in was given to us, we were told to wait ( air-con lobby was not really functioning ) and it was 38 degrees out there! We waited for 2 - 3 hours to get our room.

3rd. Room - Superior Suite is their most expensive room ( the next level is presidential suite ), however, when i walked into the room, there's this really weird and wet smell to the place. worst thing is, the basic amenities like the TV channels are all fuzzy ( international channels, 2 - 5 tops! ). Moreover, the place is so dark!

4th. Services - Assistant Manager ( Duty Manager ) S.u.c.h.i.t W. is such a royal pain!!. No matter what i told him. He will give me a i-don't-know, i-don't care attitude. absolutely the worst duty manager i have ever came across in Bangkok. He speaks little English but other hotel manager who speak lesser English give better service! The woman Duty Manager is good though.

5th. Taxi - Don't ever think you can get meter charges anyway near the area. They see you come from there, it's all by agreement. Be it going to somewhere or coming back from else where. Once the taxi hear Baiyoke Sky Hotel. That's it! No meter charges!

6th. Bell Boy - I totally understand that they don't earn much and they usually earn from tips. But they are just as bad as the scamming taxi drivers. A Single Trip to the airport via taxi cost 400B. They claimed that 100B is for using HIGHWAY (which cost 20B ) and a normal ride cost 230 by meter ( from airport to baiyoke sky )

Absolutely disgusted with this hotel! Absolutely disgusted with the Duty Manager ( S.u.c.h.i.t W. )

Location was terrible and most taxi drivers will not take you there! Check-in is dreadful and takes ages and staff are ignorant. The reception area is like an entrance to a factory and you have to take a lift to the main check-in area. There was an offer for a room up-grade and this resulted in a double up-grade which of course was twice the price but I was glad I took it. The room was massive but not that clean and everything looked well worn. I chose this hotel as the pictures on the internet looked good, however when you arrive it is completely different. The sky train station seems to be miles away and generally the whole area seems much run down. To sum up not a good experience!

The only thing i love about this hotel is the view from above, it's location and also their breakfast. The service of the hotel is just average. Expected the rooms to be better, however, kinda disappointed when we saw it. Not a high chance will coming back to Baiyoke.

Stayed there from 27th - 29th April 2013, extremely bad service, hotel staff are just sour especially at the breakfast buffets, staff are unhelpfull, and do things with sour faces. Food at breakfast was terrible with cheap juice that mixed with water. The housekeeping was also terrible with the staff compalining all the time when we requetsed extra sheets and pillows and a baby crib. Toilet was blocked and when we asked them to unblock, they did it unhappily and also were not very clean the same dirty plunger that theyuse to unblock the toilet with they just leave it lying on the carpet with all its muck. The same cloth they use to clean all the muck they use to clean up the toilet with...disgusting.
Rooms are however very spacious and ideal for families with sperate main bed rooms and kiddies room. Dont reccomemmed anyone to stay there, Im sure u can better service elsewhere, Also pool area was cordoned off due to maintanenece, terrible when the temperatures are soaring in the mid thirties...

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else like Amari watergate

Stayed there for four nights with my parents and we had to wait for quite some time for check in. The air con was either spoilt or not cold enough because we were sweating in the reception. No smiles or whatever from the hotel staff that did our check in, in fact all of them were pulling a sullen face. However, Bellboy/porter was friendly and kind enough to take initiative to help us with the luggage up to our room. The walkway outside the rooms smelt and was clearly lack of ventilation.

The only thing I like about the hotel was the generous amount of space in our room, we had three super single beds, and also a lounge corner where tv and sofas were there. Bathroom was big with a seprate shower and bathtub, good for ladies who need mirrors to do their make up.

The hotel is also close to the platinum mall, pratunam market, indra square, city complex and a short drive to mbk, central world and the famous four faced buddha.

Location: great! Rooms: not bad, but try go for the highest rooms otherwise your room may be cramped and not up to standard. Service: no real reason to complain.

But there are not free wifi/internet connection. I know internet is very cheap in Bangkok, and with a couple of thousand rooms this is the minimum to expect. I've stayed in many small hotels in Asia and they all over (*try to over) some internet. Hong Kong you can expect high-speed connections for free.

Room Tip: Look at the Sky rooms
