Grand Hyatt Erawan is an excellent hotel in the best location in downtown Bangkok.Central World and Siam Paragon right beside the hotel, and BTS station just a quick 2 min away by walk.Stayed at the Grand Executive Suite, which is 120 m2 in size, and the room decor is really WOW.  I enjoyed the comfort of the bed as well as the bathroom amenities the most. The hotel also has very good restaurants in The Dining Room, Spasso, and Erawan Tea Room.  The Spasso in the night time turns into a really happening bar, and lots of actions if you are looking for a short time companion.I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast on the Club lounge, and the only downside in my opinion to the hotel is the room service.  The food from the room service is really average at best, and I hope the hotel can do something to upgrade this department. But overall, a definite keeper and I will definitely be back in Hyatt Erawan next time!

Great hotel centrally located in Bangkok

The Grand Hyatt certainly lives up to it’s Grand name. The service is top notch as is the quality of rooms, staff are friendly and courteous at all times.

We stayed in 2 rooms over 2 stays, firstly a grand twin, which was ideal for a family of 4. The room was well equiped with a separate bathroom. Secondly we upgraded to a suite, which was excellent, very big living room, large bedroom, a bathroom and 2 toilets.

On the 5th floor is the pool, tennis court and spa. The pool is also equipped with a hot tub, which certainly lives up to it’s name. Think Lobster and you get the picture.! This was great fun and I’d certainly recommend it to anyone. Note that having 2 kids with you in a big hotel can be anxiety causing for parents. Don’t worry, the staff here made us feel totally at home.

One annoyance is that you have to have your bags checked by security on entering the hotel (everytime). No idea why, however, we were told it was for our safety. Interested to know what was affecting out safety!

The only other downside, if there is one is taxis and tuk tuks. You unfortunately face a premium by simply staying here, I.e. you stay in the Hyatt, therefore you have ‘Big Money’ Don’t be put off, a trip from the airport by cab should not cost anymore than 500 Baht regardless of the number in your party or the size of your bags. Just hold out and barter a bit, you’ll always get someone to take you for less than this.

We stayed in Grand Hyatt for 3 nights and I have to say that this is a wonderful hotel to stay in. It's centrally located and the shopping malls (Central Plaza and Siam Paragon) are walking distance from the hotel. In the evening, some items from the night market are sold on the sidewalk. The MRT station is nearby. The hotel has a very warm welcoming ambiance. The rooms are big and clean. The room service is reasonably priced and the food is excellent. I ordered the Thai fried rice and the quantity is actually good for 2 people. The concierge is very helpful and i suggest that you have him write in Thai the place you want to go and possibly have him speak to the driver in Thai. Taxis are everywhere but be wary of the traffic. My only complaint is the language as some of the staff are not fluent in english and if your room is near the pool area and there's a party going on, you can hear the music and this might distrub your sleep. If you can get a higher room, even better. For big time shoppers, take note that Thailand also has the VAT Rebate or Tax Refund. For every minimum purchase of 2,000 BHT (whether single or combined receipts) in one day, in a single form, the shopper is qualified to get a vat refund form from the customer service. But for you to claim the refund, you must have spent a total at least BHT5,000 BHT. A rather clever way to encourage tourist to shop. When you get to the airport, have the forms validated first at the VAT Refund counter before checking in. Afterwhich you can proceed to claim the refund from the counters. When leaving, it is recommended that you pay the extra BHT70 to use their highway to get to the airport faster.

From the moment we checked in everything was perfect. The staff is so accommodating and gracious and so willing to help. We stayed there for 5 nights and loved the breakfast buffet. They had Kiwi juice and it was really yummy. This hotel is close to the sky train and a shopping mall is located right next to the hotel. We loved the little corner shrine and the night bazaar is a close cab ride away and worth going to. We were so busy sightseeing that we never got the chance to use the swimming pool but next time we go we will definitely make use of it since it's super hot in October. I highly recommend staying at the Hyatt it's well worth it!

We stayed for 6 days at this hotel. It is very centrally located and there is a beautiful Erawan shrine next door that people travel for miles to visit. There is dancing at the shrine and you can also get a great view of the shrine from up on the skytrain walkway.

Taxis are really reasonable as long as it is not the commuter hour...when traffic crawls.

We were put in an upgraded room...view of the pool and the street...which did not really impress me, until I looked at the views others had...parking lots and roof tops. The rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly. HINT...the bakery on the lower level has a half price sale at 7:30 each evening - lots of goodies to enjoy.

The Bldg next door...where the Starbucks and McDs are---...they have lots of shopping and a great massage place (in the corner on the 2nd floor- had a foot and head massage)...again- we would have loved to try the spa at the hotel...but a bit over our budget. There are food courts in all the malls that have great food. You buy a prepaid card in the malls and then just pick what you want to eat...and then on the same day you can get a refund for any left over money on the ard. We on a bit of a budget...so we did not eat much iin the hotel.

The hotel has great and easy access to the skytrain- you can buy a set up ride tickets that makes travelling easier = not having to queue up to buy tickets each time.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The conciege was most accomodating in writing out things for taxi drivers, confirming cooking school reservations...BaiPai - enjoyed etc.

Felt very safe in the hotel and would stay here again. I would rate this hotel a 4+ when compared to places like The Penninsula and The Oriental.
