“Great location but...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2006

Had a junior suite (upgrade) that was quite small but well appointed. Separate shower in bathroom and housekeeping standards were good. Air conditioning in the living room was fixed on "arctic" and the engineers who came just cranked up the temperature and left us saying that it would have to be "warm". 2 days later they still hadn't fixed it so we talked to the duty manage in reception and they fixed it - back to "arctic". We gave up. Our suite was on the 11th floor facing Sukhumvit Road and the noise was quite noticeable: maybe a higher level floor would be better but I think it is just the window design.

Every day, we went to breakfast and they tried to place us at the worst table in the retsaurant - right by the waiters' station. Why us? Breakfast however was very good with an excellent buffet choice. We only had one other meal in the hotel (lunch in the bakery) and that also was good - a giant Ruben sandwich with fries that served 2 easily, so F&B overall was good from our limited experience.

There is a smallish pool and sundeck area but for a city centre hotel, not bad. Very big gym with loads of equipment - excellent. Good location, within 100 metres of Nana Skytrain station and the "exotic" nightlife of the Nana district is just round the corner if that is what you want.

Overall, a 4* city hotel but the niggles (room aircon/restaurant seating/traffic noise) put us off somewhat. Next time in Bangkok, probably we'll try the Grand Hyatt or the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. The Landmark just doesn't quite cut it at the higher end of the market...

This was our first port of call on our honeymoon in Thailand. We upgraded on arrival to a junior suite without great extra expense. This was well worth it as we then had use of the exclusive club on the top floor which included breakfast, afternoon drinks and snacks and cocktails while looking out over the Bangkok skyline. The suite was immaculate and we had great fun playing with the control console which allowed you to play music while in the bath and set the exact temperature you required! The entrance lobby is stunning and the pool area offers interesting views over the city. The hotel is located on the Sukhumvit road which is a little bit away from the main attractions such as the temple of the Emerald Buddha, but the sheer luxuriousness and value for money of the hotel makes up for it. There were a number of good restuarants including a bakery overlooking the street which was handy for a quick lunch and there were good department stores close by for shopping.

Excellent hotel in good location close to to Nana Skytrain location Stayed 2 nights with two teenage children in Landmark club rooms at their special weekend rates, I couln't fault the hotel in anyway. The breakfast buffet must be one of the best I have ever seen. Every kind of breakfat was catered for. . Upgrading to the Landmarkclub rooms at a slightly higher cost is well worth it especially for the extra facilities you get ,in particular free happy hour drinks and buffett, With two children I found that they could eat as many snacks as they liked and for us parents it was nice to sit there and relax, drinking free drinks for 2 hours in the evening was a delight. The swimming pool was very good . Rooms were very spacious and clean This is an ideal place to stop and see the delights of Bangkok . Upgrading to better rooms also gave us the facility of a late checkout at 6pm which was ideal for our evening flight back to England

This is a super hotel. The staff are delightful and incredibly helpful. We stayed on a $99 / night weekend break - I think in a lifestyle room - and had all the facilities of the 27th floor business lounge. This means free tea, coffee and soft drinks all day. (Quite a saving when travelling as a family) and a 5.30 - 7.30 pm hors d'ouevres selection which was great at filling the gap for my 16 year old son!
The hotel is located next to the Nana sky train station so all travel is incredibly easy. The river hotels are lovely when all is illuminated at night but the Landmark wins hands down on value! The breakfast was excellent and we also ate at the Japanese restaurant and the Thai restaurant in the Landmark - both again were fantastic value - exceedingly better value than the Peninsular where we had dinner one night and had to pay 360 baht for a large bottle of water!!!
Also the night market on the Sukhumvit road is an attraction for getting into the spirit of Bangkok!

i booked into the landmark november last year with my wife and 15 year old stepdaughter we were told we would have a twin room with a extra bed in it. when we arrived there we were put into a small room with 2 single beds in it. i went straight to reception to report it they said they would sort it out straight away. nothing happened. 4 more times i reported it still nothing happened. then after i said i wanted to see the manager [ the receptionist said i could not because he was away ] they sent a maid up to my room she put a blanket and pillow on the floor and said there is your bed. so there i was in won of the so called best hotels in bangkok and i had to sleep on the floor for 3 nights. i did not get a apology just blanked. for the first time in 20 visits to thailand i was glad to leave. so if you want my advice if 3 of you want to book into the landmark hotel DONT.

We stayed at the Landmark for 5 nights in April. We were impressed with the spacious lobby and the greeting we received - even though it was late at night.

I got a better rate ($122 USD) for a Deluxe Club Room by booking on the Summit Hotels web site, We had (what we considered) a nice, clean, modern and spacious room on the 27th floor. A fresh fruit was waiting for us and slippers were by the bed. The bathroom amenities were also very nice.

When booking the room, I didn't realize it included breakfast. We had the most amazing American/European buffet every morning - made to order eggs, tropical fruit, cheese, meats, pasteries, muesli, fresh juice, etc. The dining room also had amazing views of Bangkok.

For the most part service was friendly. I was, however, a little disappointed with our check-out experience. The woman who was at the desk of the Club Floor Lounge was not very friendly and was quite rushed and abrupt when we were settling our bill. She didn't smile, ask us about our stay or even thank us - even though she saw us every day of our stay. Her actions left a bad final impression.

Overall, I'd recommend the Landmark to anyone visiting Bangkok.

I've stayed in the Landmark twice recently. Good things are that it is good value and the club lounge and business centre are, unusually, open 24/7. I stayed on a Lifestyle floor, which has contemporary rooms that look rather better than the regular rooms (although I've only seen the latter by peering in through doors as I've walked past). I had a free upgrade a corner suite this time, which was very nice indeed. I’ve had no problem getting a late checkout either.

Only downside is that I got woken up on both visits by the people next door. This hotel is in the heart of one of the nightlife areas and so people do come back late and merry, etc..

Public areas are good and I found the staff to be excellent and very eager to please. The hotel is right by the Skytrain, and plenty of street vendors, tailors, bars and massage parlours.

I think it’s a great place for recreation – possibly less good for a business visit.
