“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2005

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Landmark hotel for 2 nights and are going back for 1 night in December when we come to the end of our holiday.

The hotel is really clean, staff are very friendly, rooms are comfortable and spacious and the breakfasts are definitely worth a try - very impressive!!!!

There is so much to see in Bangkok and if you're only there for a short time we would recommend the Grand Palace and the Temples that surround it. Make sure you also take a ride in a Tuk Tuk! (These would never be allowed at home as you can see the dangers when you climb aboad but funny to experience!)

The hotel has a big Fitness First (gym) which came in very useful and a pool on the 11th floor.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bangkok as it is very central, however if you want to stay where there are more travellers then Kao San is for you....

My first time in Bangkok. I absolutely loved this hotel. I stayed in a Lifestyle room (21st Floor) and it was excellent. The facilities were excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient.
Would definately recommend

We stayed in The Landmark for 1 week, our travel agent had a special deal with The Landmark that if your stay was 5 nights or more you received free breakfast and if you stayed for 7 nights or more a free upgrade to a junior suite would be given. What fantastic value, we travelled with two small children and this gave us plenty of space, we had a separate living room and a large bedroom. The service was excellent at the hotel and although drinks by the pool were expensive eating in the hotel was very reasonable. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a choice for all nationalities. At the pool the attendant laid two white towels on each lounger for us and put up an umbrella if we wished. It is slightly more expensive in comparison to other hotels with the same star rating but you pay that little bit more because of the location. Traffic in Bangkok is terrible. The sky train is located beside the hotel so travelling around Bangkok is easy. I have stayed in hotels by the River which were also lovely but we will definately be going back to The Landmark. We may even stay for 2 weeks next time as we were dissappointed with our next hotel after experiencing The Landmark. Be aware it is near one of Bangkok's red light areas although this did not affect our enjoyment of the area and hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay here! I had originally planned on staying at the Amari Boulevard hotel but upon arrival found the Amari very smoky and my room smelled overwhelmingly of mold (and staff not great)....was able to get a room instead at the Landmark immediately and with no problems! Staff was superb...flawless service and they really do make you feel like a king/queen! My room was very comfortable and decently sized. Enjoyed the lovely pool, dinner at the huntsman club...but the breakfast buffet on the main floor was by far my favorite part! I've traveled all over the world, and that is definitely the best hotel breakfast buffet I have ever seen!
I would certainly stay here again if I were to come back to Bangkok!!!!

The Landmark is one of the best hotels in Thailand, which says a lot considering the country is known to have some of the best in the World (Oriental, Peninsula to name a few). I have been to Bangkok about 10 times now and have stayed at the Oriental and Shangri-La hotels to name a few. Those two hotels are absolutely top notch in every sense of the word and are definitely worth the money. The Landmark is unique in that for a third of the money (Oriental) and about half (Shangri-La), it is nearly as good in just about every aspect as the Oriental and Shangri-La and is better in a few things. Yes, for less than a $100 per night (U.S.), you can stay at this fine hotel. My average night cost for the Hotel have ranged from ($60-$99) depending on the season. But, I have never paid more than $99 even during the peak season. If you're having problems finding a rate less than $100 on the net, you should contact the hotel directly and negotiate.

Having stayed at the Landmark four times now, I do have one important piece of advice. Make sure that your stay includes breakfast at the main level. On my second stay, I did not know there was even a ground (lower) level breakfast area where the ambiance is only OK and dark. So, when you book at the hotel, make sure and insist that breakfast is on the main floor. It may cost you extra, but is definitely worth it. Breakfast (main floor) at the Landmark is absolutely fantastic from the selection (American, Continental, Asian) to the excellent service to the elegant ambiance of the room. And don't forget about the freshly squeezed juices. How many hotels in the world offer 3 or 4 freshly squeezed juices for their buffet style breakfast? Not too many... If I am going on and on about the breakfast, it is because it is a BIG factor during my vacation and is underestimated by many travelers. It starts your morning and essential fuels your entire day.

The Landmark truly epitomizes excellence and I consider it a bargain for the level of service the hotel affords.

I stayed at the Landmark with my boyfriend for two days before we went off to Koh Samui. The hotel was lovely. We stayed in a superior room which was perfect with a very large king size bed and a lovely bathroom. The only thing that was a shame was that the restaurant where you have breakfast was shut for refurbishment so we had to have breakfast on the ground floor. After reading previous reviews about how lovely it was having breakfast with such wonderful views I was quite looking forward to that - it wasn't really a problem though as we were only there for two days. The piano bar and the rib room were also shut while we were there!

We did have cocktails in the cocktail bar and had a meal in the thai restaurant which were both very nice.

The hotel is in a very good location right next to the sky rail which we used quite a bit and was very easy to use and very cheap. And when you look down on the traffic in Bangkok you are quite happy being up above it all!

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Would definitely stay at the Landmark if I returned to Bangkok.
