Can't say enough good things about Peninsula Bangkok - from staff to rooms, from restaurants to pool, absolutely everything was perfect. So perfect in fact that we ended up not seeing much of Bangkok other than the most famous attractions as we wanted to spend more time enjoying the hotel (and this has never happened before - I tend to see hotels as a place to sleep and not to hang out)
We ate breakfast and dinner at two different restaurants in the hotel and quality was very good.
Room was huge and well equipped. Wifi signal was strong.
Best thing about the hotel is the staff. Everyone we dealt with was very well trained and professional, besides being the friendliest people we saw in Bangkok.
Worth every penny and we would go back to Bangkok just to stay there again.

Not having been to Bangkok before, a friend who lives there recommended the Peninsula. Great choice: everything made easy, checking in in our room having arrived late at night, great service and smiles at all times, delicious breakfast with amazing variation of things to choose from, incredible view of the city from across the river, and the boat ride to cross the river was a lovely start and end to our days.

Dear jlp-arg,

Recommendations from people living in the city are always great, as they really know the town inside and out. We are glad to hear that we did not let your friend down. I would also have to agree with you about the boat ride. It is indeed a much more peaceful way to return to the hotel from a hectic day exploring the city than sitting in traffic.

My wife and I stayed in a balcony room at this hotel for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon in early April 2014 and we would definitely stay again. I have stayed in various other 5 star hotels in Bangkok and this one tops the list. We booked the Rolls to pick us up at the airport and, although a little pricey, it was certainly worth it. When you book a transfer by Rolls, you get an added service of check-in done in your room which, after 30 hours of traveling, is much better than waiting in line at the front desk. The hotel provided us with a complementary bottle of Prosecco and some chocolates which were quickly devoured. The breakfast buffet was good and had plenty of variety. We also tried their Asian restaurant which was quite tasty. Although the hotel is on the other side of the river from most of the touristy stuff, there are fun little shuttle boats that will take you to a couple of spots on the other side that have direct access to the Skytrain, river ferries and taxis. The pool is also fantastic...

this used to be my favourite hotel in bangkok..its slipping in my opinion

not much has changed in 15 years.. the rooms are nice and have new tvs but the shower in my room was old and not maintained , the wifi is free but pretty slow , the housekeeping staff turn up 1 minute after calling which is great

the cafe and front desk staff and service are not as sharp as before. they seem to not listen to what you are saying and just answer based on key worlds they hear rather than the issue you are asking about .maybe language or accent issue but its more about listening first then answering ....

the spa is not as fresh as once ....steam room has an old smell and showers in mens spa were not well maintained the day i was there...no amenities or staff to assist

had dinner in the buffet , no staff attending to my meal or table and the quality an offering has deteriorated . not sure if they are cutting costs to due to low occupancy and the political situation.

breakfast is nice but not 5 star ...other hotels are doing a better job

the location and pool are still great if you like the quieter side of bangkok but i hope they inject some more staff training to help get it back to 4- 5 years ago....

not bad but not great and for the price i paid $600 per night you would expect more

Room Tip: high room , suite is a better choice which you can ask to pay bit for an upgrade on check in if ava...

I dont like to make super ratings about hotels or places, because we are all humans, so we all make mistakes.....
But after travelling all my life in the best hotels of the world,...ritz, lanesborough, palace, starwood....I never seen someting similar to this.....
We had tried the 15 facets package (aniversary of the hotel),...The treat from the very begining was incredible....just we get out of the finger from the plane...and 2 persons were waiting for us to help us and go in fast track of the passport control....amazing!!!!
I can spend 30 minutes to explain every unique moment....but I have little time and too much work!!!!
I only can say that one day they close exclusively for us the restaurant in the top of the hotel for a private dinning...It was the most romantic sitation I feel in my life( And I been dinning 2 times in a private lonely island in Maldives)....my wife was...almost crying of happines....
As I told before I have little time to writte about places were I had been but in this special case I need to do it, just to thank each single person that work in such an incredible hotel....the hotel was 5 stars...the crew....10 stars....THANKS!!!!!!!!

And even more....the incredible price!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: the ones of the 15 facet program are incredible....

Dear Pablo A De C A,

Thank you for joining in our fifteenth year anniversary celebration. We have put together the 15 experiences that we think best defined the hotel, and it is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed them so much. From the small details when you arrived to having an exclusive dinner on the 37th floors above the river overlooking Bangkok's skyline, as well as the Thai cooking and tuk-tuk rides, we have especially created these experiences to say thank you for being a part of our celebration.

We look forward to welcoming you back to begin another 15 years of memorable experiences.

Perfect location , beautiful pool area - including one long enough for laps , good breakfast and service , blissful spa.
Rooms numbered 5 and 7 have balconies which are great to watch the river action .
Only small irritation is that in 2 separate visits the Thai restaurant was closed on a Monday for ' refurbishment ' and the sign up on Monday morning . Both times over holiday weekends when the hotel was full ! If is closed on Monday then they should just say so ; that will allow guests to plan . If not and it is just coincidence , then let us know on checking in. Sadly I missed my Thai dinner by the river ...
