Went there over Chinese New Year 2014, despite concerns about protestors in Bangkok. First time staying at a Peninsula Hotel and what impressed me most about it was the service. It was completely 1st class. The hotel itself is very nice, what you would expect from a 5* hotel. Well appointed rooms, good breakfast, gym & spa facilities. The pool is very comfortable and all the pool staff are very attentive. It doesn't have a huge "wow" factor but I think it's hard for City hotels to have that and most people have become pretty hard to please.
But the service was faultless. I asked them for Gluten free bread on the first breakfast and for the remainder of our stay, they always provided it without having to ask again.
All in all, if I don't need to stay in the CBD in the future, I'll be returning to The Peninsula.
Well done guys, and keep it up.
