“Top-notch in almost every way, would stay again, just a few small issues”

I can only complain about a few small things, but here you go

1. The pool is pretty small, and stacked, so you have a pool that flows down, its long and narrow and you have like 4 or 5 pools that interlock. Would be nice to have a larger pool for laps etc

2. Balconies - I don't believe my room had a balcony

The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had for a hotel buffet. You can sit inside or outside, great breeze in the morning on the river. Fantastic coffee.

You can hop a private or public boat taxi to go across the river to one of the other hotels for a drink or take a tour of the river.

The neighborhood doesn't have much for shopping etc, but you can hop a free water shuttle to go across, and its fun.

One word of caution - If you need a car rental with a translator DO NOT call Bob's Transport Service. I called him and booked a car and driver who could translate. He said no problem and several days later, it's time to go out into the countryside - my fiancee was meeting her older half brother FOR THE FIRST TIME. The guy arrives at the hotel, and he is not bob. I find this out after spending 5 minutes trying to use sign language so he can tell me his name. Very nice guy, but he had obviously been paid a small bag of peanuts by Bob. I called Bob throughout the day - no solution, so sorry, I am in the countryside and cant help. No offer for a refund, etc. So, needless to say, the 4 hours we spent together were a mess, my fiancee and her brother could barely communicate anything and it was a huge let down. He had a friend call me later to apologize and to try and make it better, but you can't undo history, the guy wrecked a special day and event and he should not be trusted, period.

No other hotel in the world feels as warm and comfortable as a Peninsula Hotel and the location in Bangkok lives up to that and more. From the moment you walk in to the water taxi that shuttles you across the river. Spacious and comfortable rooms with fantastic Internet service and great views of the Bangkok skyline. Would definetly visit again if travel calls me back to Bangkok.

Last year, I went to Bangkok and I stayed in this hotel with my parents and their friends from 18 - 25 August. The room was magnificent and clean. The breakfast was very delicious. The service was very good, and everyone had smiles on their faces.

We were spoilt for choice as there is so much to choose from in Bangkok but I am sure we made the right choice from the moment we were met at the airport. Rooms are totally spotless and luxurious with fingertip control of almost everything. Bathroom was a pleasure and had a 'his' and 'hers' basin. The whole hotel oozes with luxury.
The ultimate pleasure is the service from the staff at the hotel. They totally look after you and spoil you so you don't want to leave at all. This extends to the wonderful ferry boat that takes you across the river to the other side. The real plus is the way they exude a genuine desire to please unlike some hotels where you feel that the hospitality is a bit forced. The wonderful lady that checked us in continued to look after us the 5 days we were there.
Because where it is on the 'other' side of the river means you get views of the river plus the Bangkok skyline. Saw wonderful sunrises from the room.
Don't bother with the taxi. Take the ferry to Saphan Taksin and catch the BTS. We bought a Rabbit Card which you load with credit and you just have to wave it across when you go through the turnstiles. This means you don't have to queue for tickets everytime you go on the BTS.
Yes, wonderful, wonderful hotel. No hesitations about recommending it to anyone.

Room Tip: For wonderful views, opt for a Grand Deluxe or Deluxe Suite. Lots of corner windows and even views f...

Had a wonderful time from Jun 29-July 1. It was the best service I had with Peninsula. The concierge was very helpful especially Tommy Zhu from Shanghai but was assigned to Bangkok for 3 months. Although he is not from Bangkok, he was so helpful in sharing with us the places to go and how to get there. Wonderful.

We LOVED our stay in The Peninsula Bangkok. The hotel is beautiful, so that's a good start. The rooms are very spacious. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe Room, which was perfect for us. The main room area is huge and it has a closet/dressing area and a huge bathroom. The view was spectacular and we had a front row seat to wonderful fireworks that took place on the river on Friday evening. Not sure if that happens every Friday or if it was a special occurrence, but we enjoyed the fireworks nonetheless.

The service at the Peninsula was top notch. I suppose that's what you'd expect, but The Peninsula staff actually beats whatever expectations you may have. The attentiveness is quite nice. And the concierge desk attendants are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They anticipate what you want before you even ask. They're very good at what they do. The river boat connection taxis that leave to and from the hotel run quite frequently, which is great. The pool area is so peaceful and not overcrowded. We used the tennis court, which has an interesting turf, but was sufficient. The hotel provides complimentary water, which was nice.

We only had breakfast at the hotel. We wanted to eat at the Thai restaurant on-site, but didn't get around to it. The breakfast was sort of expensive, but it was very convenient and had lots of food to choose from.

One thing that I really appreciated was free wifi in the hotel room. I think this should be a given for such a nice hotel, but it's surprising how many top hotels actually have a wireless internet surcharge.

Altogether we had an amazing time in Bangkok and we attribute a lot fo that to our pleasant hotel stay at The Peninsula.

My room was plush, very well equipped (if not a little dated), with an amazing bathroom (including the built in TV over the bath). I had great views across the river too. I loved the location and the ability to use the hotel boats to travel to locations Jo and down the river, though I didn't get much time to explore it seemed like a good way to get around.

Only complaint with the service was the concierge recommendations for dining. Twice we asked for good Thai food and both times they recommended tourist traps with bland Thai options and pizza and pasta on the menu! Otherwise it was typical amazing & friendly Thai service.

For Bangkok this hotel is very expensive but for most other places in the world, it's an absolute bargain!
