From the moment I arrive at this hotel, I know that I have made the right choice to come back. I stayed here once in 2009. This time I stay on the first week of the year 2013, although it is just a short leisure stay with my friend who travels to Bangkok for first time. There are many new hotels and choices in vibrant Bangkok, but what makes this hotel to stand out are its exceptional service and the upkeep of the room.
Although there are some hiccups during check in, first, there is a lady speaking very unfriendly and loud in Thai with the staff, might be due to some problems with her stay, but the receptionists act professionally to handle the issue. And for myself, I have to inform the reception I am SPG Gold member during check-in, but it is not a big issue as I suspect it might be due to my own account problem. Of course, I got the gold amenity and benefits, and this check-in experience does not affect my impression with this hotel at all.
I have been allocated to a better room located at the highest floor, which allows me and my friend to enjoy the vibrancy of Bangkok skyline. I have tried the pool in the morning as well as the sauna, very enjoyable, before breakfast. Staff in the health club is attentive and show us around and arrange a locker. The gym looks great but I have no time to try, may be next time.
I saw a card that introduces some local fruits on compliment from the hotel, but I could not find any fruit platter rather just a card? Not sure what does that means. Also, there is no turn down service during my stay. Perhaps they only do it by request.
This hotel deserves praise as it keeps up the high Le Meridien experience for guests. There is a guest survey card, I can confirm the hotel ticks all the boxes to ensure guest comfort is the utmost priority. Breakfast is the usual Le Meridien high standard with generous spread of local and international cuisine.
Overall an enjoyable stay! I have been well taken care of by all the staffs; they really did their job well, from concierge to reception to gym to restaurant. I probably won’t look elsewhere next time when I return to Bangkok for holiday. I will definitely bring my wife here in future when we have time to visit Bangkok.
