“Amazing stay, outstanding customer service”

We travelled to Bangkok for surgery at Samitivej Hospital.....it's just 50 baht in taxi from hotel to hospital. All staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough to help us and to make our stay enjoyable, especially Toy, Max and Nun..... we really appreciated your genuine care post op! It's 5 min walk to BTS which is essential during the protests as many roads are closed. Staff we're very informative as well. Pool area is so very relaxing and cocktails are great! The Gym is also very modern with everything you need....the only thing is they could have some better channels on the gym Tv's but that is all! Breakfast buffet was excellent, a good variety. We will definitely be staying here again and recommending it to our friends who will also be having surgery at Samitivej. Thanks for a lovely week :) cookies are great also!

Room Tip: High rooms are very quiet :)

We stayed at this hotel for the first leg of our Honeymoon in Thailand, February 2014 and stayed 3 nights. We were very pleased with the service we received.

We used their airport transfer upon arrival to Bangkok but you would easily be able to find a taxi for less than 200 BHT. The taxi's are metered so you do not have to worry about negotiating a price before you go somewhere.

The location is within walking distance to the sky train system and the front desk is more than willing to help you obtain day passes. We used the sky train to visit the Temples and didn't have any problems. The concierge showed us on a map where to get on the train, switch trains, get off the train and which boats to get on a off of which made it very easy.
You are also within several massage locations that you can choose from if you didn't want to use the on site spa.

We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning also. There was a wide variety to choose from so I can see where a lot of people would be pleased. The staff also made it a point to remember who we were and where we liked to sit. We ordered room service for dinner one night and there was nothing wrong to report.

The pool is nice and there was no problem finding a chair to sit in. They have the Hilton Honors Happy Hour at the pool every night but we were always busy and never made it.
We weren't adventurous enough to explore restaurant's around the neighborhood so I cannot give any advice regarding those, although I am sure the front desk staff could point you in the right direction.

If we were to go back to Bangkok, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The new property has a very good location, moving around is very okay as the hotel is just 5 minutes walk to the sky train station, and there are many shopping malls around. The room rates are affordable, Everything worth the money spent. All good.

As always, we love the cookies at the DoubleTree.. but I guess that is not necessarily the highlight of the review. The location of the hotel is very good..... There is a Hilton close by which technically has a better location than the Double Tree, but I do think this hotel is still very convenient.

I would say the standard here is the same for most DoubleTrees in the Hilton Corporation, though it is newer and more modern. Love the decor and the staff was friendly.

I give excellent reviews to the management of the hotel and especially one of the Front Desk/Reservation Supervisors. We had a bit of a hiccup between central reservations communicating with the hotel and the staff on-site took care of the situation. They were so helpful and pleasant. Can't say enough great things about them.

Totally agree with the positive reviews. The excellent treatment we received on our one night stay was staggering. As our flight home was at midnight we had requested a late check out if that was possible - we got that and so much more, but more on that later. Here are the important bits:.
. The public taxi from the airport cost about 400baht and was easy to use as there are dispatchers at the stand outside of arrivals
. The location is good, very near the sky train and you can walk through the neighbouring Hilton grounds to the Emporium shopping complex
. The TA map should not be relied on to find nearby restaurants! We ate in the Admirals Pub down an alley near the Hilton entrance which served the solid steak and chips we craved after 2 weeks of more exotic fare
. We had a suite which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with comp water (but take care to pick up the right bottles, some were charged imports)
. The pool is nice but has very little shade
. Breakfast is substantial and varied, though (our only criticism) the waiters were not great, they seemed to be avoiding customers. A couple of management guys turned up and set about doing the work themselves rather than sorting out the staff. This area needs some improvement.

Now to what delighted us, and there was much to recommend. First off, the doorman checked that our taxi was charging us appropriately as well as taking our bags. Reception was amazing. We were checked in with speed and charm. Max went out of his way to ensure we were happy throughout our stay, he is a real star who should go far. As Hilton gold members we were also invited to the complimentary poolside happy hour which was most enjoyable. Lunch was pretty good too. On leaving we were treated like valued guests and escorted to our cab by Max and colleagues, our cab fare was negotiated for us and we left as very happy guests.
The hotel was quiet when we were there, perhaps because of the terrible political situation. Be reassured, we had no problems at all and the hotel is well away from the sensitive areas. The traffic is a bit worse than usual but the cab drivers know where the problems are.

Room Tip: High rooms have great views.

This hotel was clean, new and far more upscale than I expected. The Hilton hotel is right behind it and I couldn't see the difference in the amenities, although the Hilton is much pricier. My room did not have a great view, but this part of Bangkok is not very scenic. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip.

I stay at Hilton Brand hotels globally in my travels but haven't been treated this great in awhile! Great hotel if you want something central in Bangkok and not so big so it feels more personal. Stayed with my family this time and all of us thought it was a great experience. The staff is REALLY great, the rooms are new and fresh and the food is very good. Pool a bit small but not a big deal when you are really here to do business or go shopping!
