I have fond memories of this hotel when it was the Pan Pacific Bangkok. Being high above the city, it was a kind of oasis, friendly staff, and lovely situation in Silom. It still is like this under the Crowne Plaza brand, although the renovations at the ground floor entrance and outside the front of the hotel makes it feel like you are walking into a building site - I'm sure it'll be finished soon. Inside, the rooms, reception area and main restaurant are greatly improved over the PanPac days. I like it, although there are far better hotels in Bangkok, for the money I paid, this was pretty nice. Free internet access was a bonus, although the price of breakfast (not included in my room rate) was a lot for the disappointing selection on offer. No hesitation in coming back here.

Room tip: Stay away from the lift area.

Not much to rave about or complain about this hotel. Its location is OK, hotel is quite old but nicely kept. I was upgraded to a (dated) Junior Suite and received quite a festive welcome amenity (some macaron served lollipop style). Service is the usual warm, well-meaning, sincere Thai style. The steak restaurant was offering a 50% reduction during my stay, so I took advantage. The restaurant was pretty empty, but the food was delicious.

We stayed at Crowne Plaza Bangkok for 3 nights for my honeymoon. The hotel is located in the one of busiest area in Bangkok and closed to BTS Saladang Station, which you can travel conveniently. It is also not very far very from Siam, The most famous shopping area. The room we were allocated were over our expectation with very nice and clean. There were various choice for breakfast and soft drink. Satffs were very friendly, genuine and professional. Especially, Khun Maneeyok, Guest Relations Manager. She provided a bouquet of rose and also 2 complimentary glasses of champagne to fulfill our honeymoon and made this place to be a memorable experience. This hotel is one of our best place for relaxation and one of our best memories forever.

Stayed for 4 nights with my 13-mth old twin daughters & my mother, as a pitstop between NZ & Lebanon. Reception, housekeeping & restaurant staff were all so kind & attentive to my daughters. They were given stuffed elephants to keep, in the restaurant christmas baubles & wrapped nori to play with (so we could eat something lol).
We dined at the restaurant every morning and sometimes for afternoon tea. Love the modern well-kept boon highchairs.
The glass-walled elevators sparkly Christmas trees downstairs & up at reception were the girls' preferred sources of entertainment. The spa & pool were both excellent. We loved the room service menu too, which we used every night for tea - and never got bored or spoilt for choice. Wifi was reliable and easy to subscribe to. Rooms were spacious with great views and lots of natural light. Bathrooms were big and nicely maintained. Easily enough linen available, and lots of space to do washing and hang it up to dry.

Overall I found this to be a nice hotel in a great location. Its your standard Crowne Plaza property so no real surprises or let downs. Its in a great location only a few steps from the Sala Daeng BTS station as well as the Silom MRT station. The staff were pleasant, professional and helpful. They even helped me with my attempts at speaking Thai which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast buffet at the Panorama restaurant was good. The dinner dining options were adequate. The hotel has a nice pool and a small but functional gym. The only note I would have for the management would be regarding an unusual odor that would permeate the corridors and my room from time to time. Otherwise this is definitely a property I would book again and would not hesitate to recommend to others.
